How To Wear: Flared Denims

One of my favourite trends this season is flared denims. From Cara Delevingne to Deepika Padukone, every IT girl has been channeling the ’70s in a pair of chic flares. It’s a cut that looks great on almost every figure — yes you read that right. Curvy girls can work wide-hem denims just as well as statuesque girls, you just need the right pair. What I also love about it? No matter how you wear it, you’re bound to be a head-turner. If you can’t wait to jump onto the bandwagon, here are four stylish ways to rock the trend.

 1. When in doubt, try plaid

Headed out for a casual whirl? Work a plaid crop top or tied-up shirt with a pair of flared jeans. If an androgynous look is your cup of tea, slip on a pair of mid-heel shoes or glossy Oxfords. Sport a leather cross-body bag to complete the look.

Dulce Couture Cat-Eyed Leopard Print Glasses (Rs 700)

2. Office chic, boho vibe

If you think you can’t work this trend at work, here’s some inspiration for you. A simple checked jacket worn over a black top and flared trousers is an extremely office-ready look. If you’re more of a relaxed bohemian, skip the structured jacket for a relaxed kimono style wrap and cinch it at the waist. Casual Fridays just got a good dose of chic!

3. Denim on denim

Teaming a light denim shirt with flared black pants is the easiest thing ever… they’re two wardrobe staples you’re bound to own and ones that never go out of style. Keep the look casual by working it with a pair of white sneakers.

4. Festival Chic

A Bardot crop top (preferably in an Aztec print or lace) paired with light-wash flared denims is perfect for an outing with the girls or for a festival gig where you want to let your hair loose. Work a pair of lace-up sandals to keep the boho vibe intact. And while you’re at it, don’t forget the accessories; a set of midi rings work perfectly.
