Suhana Khan Romancing The Sarees Is Our Favourite Love Story

Shah Rukh Khan’s beloved daughter–Suhana celebrates her 23rd birthday today. The actress in making is gearing up for her big Bollywood debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, alongside Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda and more. Besides the junior Khan’s kitty of upcoming projects and a roster of new brand deals, her fashion sense is always a point of discussion amongst fans. From her on-fleek makeup, and jewellery to her collection of bodycon dresses and sarees, Khan’s great genes reflect in her sartorial choices. Particularly in the department of Indian ethnic wear, Suhana loves to go the classic way with tons of glitter. And here we are tracking back at her flavourful collection of Gen-Z sarees.

A Moment In Sabya

For the recently held NMACC Gala, Suhana accompanied her mom–Gauri in a mesmerising brown saree. The bronze and gold number on Khan was picked from the shelves of India’s favourite designer–Sabyasachi. Signature Sabya embroidery and a regal colour palette weaved the entire look on Suhana, which she further styled using a bustier-inspired blouse, a minimal black bindi and kundan earrings.

Feather Forever

Paying homage to couture-favourite feathers, Khan styled a delicate Falguni Shane Peacock saree. In pictures decorating her Instagram feed, we spotted this dull, nude-coloured drape, embellished with crystal embroidery, feather-laden hemlines and sheer sequin embroidery. Adding to the statement drape was her chandelier-chic blouse, with cold shoulders and intense ivory thread work. She further completed the ensemble with hair tied into a ponytail and a hint of colour through emerald drop earrings.

Muse To Manish

Serving as the perfect muse for designer Manish Malhotra’s creations, Suhana displayed her inherent pizzazz through a dull beige saree. The classic Malhotra embroidery was seen through leafy katdana embroidery on the pallu, with a sexy scoop-neckline blouse to match the glam. She further styled it all with a pair of emerald gemstone earrings, subtle makeup and hair tied into a ponytail.

Like A Bollywood Heroine

Seeking inspiration from a classic Bollywood heroine, Khan styled a striking red saree in some of her previous pictures. The head-to-toe red look featured tonal embroidery in red sequin-loaded hemline, and a sexy, backless blouse. To add a sense of ethnic, Indian twist to the look, Suhana picked a pair of statement, silver oxidised jhumkas and tied her tresses into a voluminous ponytail.

The Corset Saree

Khan’s love for experimental couture delivered a saree look with a corset, way ahead of its time. For a grand Diwali party hosted at her Mumbai home–Mannat, the actress picked a black saree to match the theme of the occasion. Like a twinkling star, the embroidery featured a delightful mix between ivory and silver lace work, dotted and appliqué patterns, alongside an unusual silhouette. The refreshing, waist cut design provided a corset-like shape to the blouse, with her low-waist saree loosely tied to help Khan embrace her curves. Balancing the glam, Suhana just added a pair of solitaires and left her hair open.
