The Palestine-Israel war has left a blot on humanity. People from across the world have opposed the impression of women and children, the countless deaths and the unnecessary destruction. Many people also raised their voices against the recent Zara campaign that they think resembles the Palestine-Israel war. Hashtag Boycott Zara is trending on Twitter and many Palestine supporters and comparing the campaign pictures to those of the spine-chilling pictures that surfaced from the war.
What Happened?
Kristen McMenamy is the face of Zara’s latest ad campaign. In one of the pictures released by the fast-fashion clothing brand. Kristen is seen posing with a mannequin wrapped in a white cloth. Many Twitter users under the #BoycottZara hashtag compared the image to that of a crying woman holding her baby wrapped in a white cloth. The heartbreaking image is from Palestine as per the users. In another Zara ad campaign picture, Kristan is seen posing inside a coffin which again reminded the Palestinian supporters of the mass killings in the country as a result of the war. People have criticised the brand right, left and centre for using the tragedies as a way to market and campaign their products. Twitter users have bashed Zara and model Kristen McMenamy for their ad campaign and it is reminding them of all the horrors in Palestine. They also think that the ad campaign is mocking the pain felt by the Palestinians.
Under this hashtag, many people also posted heartbreaking videos and photos of the destruction being caused to lakhs of human lives because of the war.
Many people also wrote that they would throw away all their Zara clothes and products. Here are some reactions to it.
However, there are no official statements from Zara as of now. The controversial pictures are still available on their Instagram handle.
