Haldi Ceremony Outfits That Are Fuss Free, Won’t Stain Easy And Perfect For The Bride-To-Be

A bridal trousseau is one of the most versatile box of treasures that’s ever existed. From shaadi lehengas to Kundan jewellery sets that our mothers have been guarding with their lives, a trousseau is where the good things are at. Yet, there are some things that always get ignored. For instance, the haldi outfit which young brides think to be replaceable with a simple kurta or a cute tank paired with harem pants (you know who you are!). They simply don’t get their time in the sun.

We understand where this comes from as well. The haldi ceremony falls right in the middle of the pre-wedding rituals. It usually happens during the day, out in the open and ends up you will probably end up with a turmeric-stained mess anyway. As such, sticking to something that won’t cause too much drama while you try to get it cleaned up seems like a good idea.

But hey, you’ll only have a haldi once! We aren’t suggesting to sit in a heavily embroidered lehenga for the ceremony, but we do have some pretty alternatives instead.

Late last year, we were left wanting for more when there were but a few pictures of Deepika Padukone’s wedding were released. The ones which were out in the open showed Deepika in a citric-hued salwar kameez for her haldi ceremony, a look we pinned on our wedding mood boards instantly.

Ananya Panday In Burnt Orange

A cropped anarkali kurta might not be the first thing that comes to a to-be bride’s mind when shopping for her trousseau. But Ananya Panday’s Anita Dongre is all kinds of fresh and festive, we are dropping this in the suggestion box.

Mrunal Thakur In A Golden Sharara

Even if to-be brides decide to go with a simple gunji for their haldi ceremony, the bottom can be replaced with an ethnic skirt or a sharara to add some flair to the event. We love the brocade selection from Raw Mango, seen here on the stunning Mrunal Thakur.
