Freida Pinto is a sharp dresser and there is no doubt about it. With a changing relationship with both minimal and striking silhouettes, the Intrusion actress has been keeping a check on her sartorial taste, with a multitude of semi-ethnic and modern-day styles. Delivering her duties at the promotions of her upcoming–.Mr Malcolm’s List, the actress has turned to her favourite designers to dress her up for the press tour. And as she does her homework of keeping up with the classics sprinkled with some trend, she can not skip wearing designer Manish Malhotra’s creations.

Picking a piece from the ace designer’s celebrated Khaab collection, Freida’s glitter set outshined above all. The actress chose to display her love for fusion wear with a three-piece set, at Mr Malcom’s List‘s premiere after-party. As striking as every sequin looked on her attire, the silhouette paid ode to India’s rich heritage in embroidery. For starters, the first thing to have caught our attention was the intricately tailored tonal embroidery, decorating the ivory base. Cutting a form, the ensemble included a pair of wide-legged sharara pants, teamed with a matching, bustier-esque, corset blouse and a pleated, sleeveless jacket.

Twinkling throughout the illuminated fabric were beautiful sequins, and kat danna, in shades of beige and silver, adding a chandelier like finish to the top. What also added a spark of excellence was the slight hint of ice-blue, that made a cameo through delicate chikankari motifs on the pants and the bodice. To complement the diamond-lit mood of the dress, Freida decided to add more glitter with a pair of diamond danglers from Cartier. For the rest, she decided to stay minimal with barely-done makeup, but heavily lit-up eyes, that came dipped in the shades of peacock purple and hair styled into a neat, half-ponytail. Ma’am Pinto further finished the look off with a glitter clutch from label–Roger Vivier and well, won full marks from her fans and of course us.

What’s interesting about Freida’s look is how it manufactures a culture veteran chikankari embroidery into a modern-day silhouette, that pays an ode to fusion, and occasion wear.
