FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week: Ananya Panday, Bipasha Basu And More Turned Models, Not Showstoppers, For Bibhu Mohapatra

Day 5 of FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week, witnessed the closing showcase by ace designer Bibhu Mohapatra. In collaboration with Lakmé India, Mohapatra’s collection–Come Home marked the launch of House Of Lakmé. The showcase was a celebration of the New York-based Indian designer’s love for crisp tailoring, muted hues and power dressing. Through this special edit, Bibhu brought a mesmerising blend between the enduring spirit of Indian women and timeless fashion.

The 75 stunning looks unveiled at the grand finale featured a mix of new and iconic designs from his atelier, which ignited a sense of nostalgia. The glamorous lineup of models included starry names like Ananya Panday, Bipasha Basu, Simone Singh, Carol Gracias, Lisa Haydon and Shimona Nath, who have been the face of Lakmé India in the past and present. Like runway models, these celebrities walked the runway in captivating designs, monochrome prints and dazzling trails, striking a powerful pose.

Returning to the Lakmé ramp after almost a decade, Bibhu redefined beauty through his collection and model roster. In pictures, we witnessed actress Ananya Panday, walking the ramp in a printed, black and white blazer, teamed with a black satin blouse and shorts. She further styled the look with bold eye makeup, and hair pinned on one side with barrettes. Bipasha Basu returned to the runway wearing a fabulous red gown with heart-shaped brooches on the sides and a cape trail.
Next in the lineup was actress Simone Singh, who styled an embellished black column dress.

Model and actress Lisa Haydon, who also served as the face for Lakmé returned to the ramp in a white, plunging neck top, and long satin skirt in pearl white. These popular names celebrated the spirit of Indian women and fashion from the country in a variety of silhouette designs and colours.
