ICW’23: 4 Wedding Wear Trends To Bookmark From Falguni Shane Peacock’s Latest Collection Showcase

FDCI’s most-awaited India Couture Week is back for another round of style serve. Opening the 2023 atelier showcase were designers Falguni Shane and Peacock, who brought home the romance of pastels, with actress Kiara Advani headlining the showcase. Sorbet-hued lehengas, bow cholis, fish-cut skirts and understated couture welcomed a whole lot of trends. The popular designers skipped their love for feathers this year, for minimal embroidery work, resonating with the idea of quiet luxury. FnP’s trademark bejewelled embroidery was given a new shape through interesting silhouettes. Here’s a list of trends you must bookmark from the showcase.
A Colour Therapy
Rekindling our love for muted colours, pastels and sorbet hues, Falguni Shane Peacock’s latest collection was all about this romance with romantic hues. Through a bunch of new lehenga designs, the designer duo examined the charm of pastels, which seems to return for another spectacular season. Not a classic red, but a Barbie pink lehenga as seen on Kiara Advani, is a nod to this year’s biggest colour trend. Brides can look out for these fairytale shades for their wedding look, and work around quiet luxury with jewel tones.

Bow Cholis And Arm Ornaments
Cutting down on a whole lot of fabric, and adding opulent details around the arms was the agenda this season. Falguni Shane Peacock, worked around a mix of sequin-loaded cholis, with bow-detailed blouses. Next to slim cholis were feather-loaded opera gloves that seemed to find a perfect match with the lehengas. A unique spin on this European accessory was garnished with a touch of traditional India.

Mandatory Bridal Veils
Turning heads in a bridal veil were models, who wore some of this season’s most designs. Through their latest collection, Falguni Shane Peacock, exhibited a bunch of new designer veils, featuring asymmetrical hemlines, scallop detailing and cutwork. Tonal thread and sequin embroidery, decorated the see-through net fabric, giving the illusion of heavy accessories.

Fusion Wear Is The New Sexy
Through their new collection, Shane Peacock brought back the idea of fusion wear, that beautifully amalgamated the worlds of traditional India and contemporary western fashion. With fitted lehengas featuring thigh-high slits, and cleavage-revealing cholis in Barbie pink, couture found a new way to dress everyone sexy in these lehenga sets. As sported by showstopper Kiara Advani, brides of the year should go all out with sensual cuts with cocktail lehengas and unique cut silhouettes.
