Ira Trivedi On Janmashtami Styling Tips
Q. How do you envision styling a traditional Janmashtami outfit for a modern woman?
A. First and foremost, it should be comfortable because comfort is key for a modern woman. On Janmashtami, I want to embody Radha’s essence. That’s what I want to represent—a lovely cotton lehenga in soft pastel colours, which is exactly how I envision myself.
Q. What are your go-to accessories for completing a Janmashtami look?
A. I’d definitely wear payals. When you dress like a Gopi or Radha, payals really elevate the look. I’ll also add some flowers to my hair. I’m all about keeping it natural—nothing too heavy or uncomfortable. After all, we are all Gopis here.

Her answers were perfect for some comfortable Janmashtami dressing tips. It’s a festival all about wearing comfortable Kurtis, sarees, and Anarkalis and a lot of colours. When asked what would she be wearing on an auspicious day, Trivedi said, “I want to represent Radha. There’s something called a Gopi Dress—it’s like a beautiful lehenga with a bit of volume and a choli blouse. I’m still deciding which Gopi Dress to wear, but I’m drawn to colours like creams, whites, Satvik pastels, pink, and yellow. I’ll adorn my hair with Jasmine for its beautiful scent, and I’ll add a few Rudraksha malas to keep away negative energy.”
