By  |

While we are still coming off from the high of a dazzling Diwali weekend, the adrenaline-fueled festivities is still fresh in our memory. To head into work after a long weekend of festive mirth was difficult but we’ve managed to pull through. One of the ways was to re-cap the glamorous looks Bollywood stepped out in for their MANY high profile parties. One big trend we noticed with Diwali fashion was glitzy, evening wear lehengas. And given that we are at the brink of the bridal season, we can only imagine it being an early and popular, trend for this year.

The cocktail lehenga is a chic blend of ethnic glory and evening-wear glam. Women who are always at way with themselves about having to go desi yet look party-ready rely on this look. From embellished bralette blouses to sequined details to jazz up the lehenga, this trend is the most exciting desi trend for us this season.

Here are 7 evening wear lehengas we obsessed over the weekend and want to wear come bridal season!

Heavily Embroidered Reds

Contrary to popular belief, bright red lehengas are anything but dated. A constant for brides and her BFFs, the embroidered red lehenga is a classic. Shanaya Kapoor’s Rahul Mishra couture is absolutely stunning.

Pastel Neons

The superstar trend of 2019, all-thing-everything neon has been the go-to look for cool girls. Translating to pastel neons in ethnic wear, Ananya Pandey’s Amit Aggarwal textured lehenga is so cool. A bandeau blouse can never go wrong at a party!

Citric Yellow

We’ve spoken about yellow lehengas being a thing and Pooja Hegde’s Diwali number just cemented that speculation. From Alia Bhatt to Shloka Mehta, everybody agrees on this. May we suggest adding this look in your wish-list already?

Pretty Saffron

Fashion designer Akanksha Gajria’s collection infuses the cool charm of tie-dye with the opulence of big Indian silhouettes. Kiara Advani’s saffron hued lehenga is yet another reason why we need to try on the tie-dye this instant!

Multi-Coloured Glam

Usually reserved for day events, multi-coloured lehengas play with natural light like a charm! But Diana Penty’s appliquéd and embellished lehenga from Aisha Rao is the perfect example of how to take colours from day to night…by adding a strong base. In this case, the turquoise blue gets the job done perfectly.
