The Girls Of ‘Euphoria’ Make The Cut’s February Cover Edgier As They Spill Some Tea About The Ending Of Season 2

The Girls Of ‘Euphoria’ Make The Cut’s February Cover Edgier As They Spill Some Tea About The Ending Of Season 2

There definitely isn’t a doubt about Euphoria’s growing fandom. In an attempt to put out a slice of vulnerability which indeed is the nature of the show. It nurtures its characters and their back stories with utmost sincerity. Every actor behind names like– Rue, Jules, Cassie, Maddy, Kat and Lexi have given path-breaking performances (and the guys too). And as the show progresses with the intensity in it’s plot, one episode at a time, fans (including myself) can’t wait to watch more of it. Well, given their popularity, the popular show’s girl gang featured on The Cut’s February cover and let’s just say for starters it’s–FAB.

Dressed in black, cut-out attires, and gold accessories, the six leading ladies, played by actresses, Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow and Barbie Ferreira, take the readers through some behind the camera journey, as they put their best fashionable foot forward. First things first, we love the overall edgy look that follows a constant style aesthetic for the six girls, unlike their characters in the show. The first image that caught our attention was of Zendaya (Rue) and Hunter (Jules), with the former dressed in her signature black and white pant-suit, and the latter in a hand-beaded, white and blue floral dress with black silk, draped bodice. And as we scroll, Alexa Demie (Maddy) captures our attention in a knitted black top and chocolate brown skort, relaxing in her all-new micro bangs. Dressed in sunny-yellow and white are then the Howard sisters and Barbie Ferreira (Kat) posing in a black leather coat and a turtle-neck, smocked top. The makeup as seen on the leading ladies takes a much-needed break from colourful face stickers and pearl embellishments, that play a huge role in the progressing plot.

Talking about the season two (which indeed is my fav.), Zendaya takes the lead and shares, “It’s like we were chasing Euphoria. We were like, ‘we need to be what we were in season one,’ and we were trying to find that spark. We weren’t saying it, but we were a little stressed.” She further added, “There are very few things that remain in the version you’re now seeing, The things that didn’t make it definitely needed to die.” Well, about her onscreen performance, we must bow down and hail Queen Z for that, as she talks about Rue, “she lives in me in a weird way. I don’t have to go searching for her.” It’s a feeling she says she has never had with another character. “Even with the Spider-Man movies, I’ll talk to the director and ask, ‘Is that MJ enough?’  I try to find it again. With Rue, she’s just there.” Humanising the character which at times seeks apologies from her closest ties for her addiction, she says, “How far can she go while we still love her, still root for her, and still see her as a human who deserves our love? But there are days where you’re just in it, and even if your brain knows it’s not real, your body takes on this anxiousness and anger.”

Season two, ventures into newer bonds, just like Jules and Elliot’s (which was surprising for actress Hunter Schafer too), Cassie and Nate’s (well, they look too good together) or even Lexi and Fezco’s who come back with extended screen time. Putting a full stop to some boiling rumours, Barbie Ferreira who plays Kat in the show opens up about her alleged big fight with writer/creator Sam Levinson on the sets, leading to his character length being chopped in the latest season. She added, “Kat’s journey this season is a little more internal and a little mysterious to the audience. She is secretly going through a lot of existential crises. She loses her marbles a little bit — just like everyone else in this season. The theme is everyone’s gone a little crazy.”

Talking about their off-screen bond, Alexa Demie shared, “We all just clicked and it felt like a family, and that’s rare, especially with a group of girls.”

Spilling some tea about the last two episodes of the season, Zendaya shared “The ending of the season was going to be very different and then halfway through, Sam and I were like, ‘We just can’t leave Rue here. We gotta put some fucking hope in this show.” As seen in the latest episode, Rue takes charge of her messiness, one step at a time and will hopefully continue to, as Zendaya says, “Episode eight is where we’ll get that sense of redemption. That you aren’t the worst thing you’ve ever done in your life. I think Rue deserves it, and I think anyone who suffers with the same thing she does deserves it.”

Thanks for the spoiler Queen Z, we can’t wait for the rest to unravel, especially Lexi’s play that is surely going to be one hell of a shocker. The popular teen drama has also been upgraded for a third season, until then the mystery, drama, romance shall continue.
