Aindrila’s Wedding Season Staple Is This Angrakha Dress

Come December and ’tis the time to be merry. Not only is it the season to get prepped for Christmas and New Year’s, but it’s also the time to attend those magnificent weddings all across town and the country. And any occasion that lets you deck up to the nines is always my favourite. After all, what’s not to love when you can play dress-up without having to worry about looking out of place or totally OTT? It’s shaadi season, and there’s really no other event where you can deck up as much, and still sometimes feel under-dressed.

While my personal favourite is the 9-yard drape (there’s really nothing as gorgeous as a Benarasi sari) when it comes to an Indian function, to be realistic and in all honesty, if you have to rush to a reception post work, then the easiest option is to opt for a dressy dress — something that you can easily wear to work, and then up the glam quotient with accessories and on-point makeup. Which is the reason why this angrakha wrap dress by Siddhartha Bansal is something I’m totally investing in this season.

The multi-coloured print is gorgeous and the Indie silhouette gives it a nice ethnic touch that I can totally get away with when it comes to attending one of those innumerable wedding functions, especially when you do not have the luxury of time to get gorgeous at a salon.

I love the V-neck of this outfit and would opt for a beautiful chaandbali instead of a necklace as the statement piece. If you want to go seriously bling, then opt for a solid gold kada; as for me, I’d just stick to a sleek timepiece. Go sharp with the makeup with a bit of contouring and correct highlighting. There you go, you’re set for the shenanigan without having to spend hours on how to manage the sari and coordinate the blouse! Chic and totally head-turning.

This Siddhartha Bansal angrakha wrap dress is made with poly crepe and has red piping detailing. Team it with nude peep-toes or pumps to complete a day look. Amp up the style with some gorgeous jewellery for an evening do.
