It is high time Aishwarya Rai Bachchan hires a new styling team. The OG Cannes girl has been in the French Riviera for a couple of days now, and we are not impressed. Aishwarya is one of the biggest names to attend the festival on behalf of India, with multiple red carpet appearances lined up. But her styling team seems less than prepared to step up to the challenge of creating fresh looks.

Did Aishwarya’s team intend to do a throwback to Sonam’s look or did they just not do their research? At an event where Bollywood celebrities are showcasing the trendiest fashion with access to the world’s best designers, why would Ash’s team put her in a look from way back when? Sure she looks lovely in shades of aqua, but we definitely were looking for something unique and more befitting of the diva.

Sady, however, even when her stylists relied on the trends, they didn’t fare any better. Aishwarya’s second red carpet appearance featured a feather-trimmed, custom-made couture look from Ashi Studio.

While we love the extravagance of the gown, it is hardly on par with the level of finesse we saw on the red carpet. Also, we are kind of confused about the whole look. Doesn’t she look a tad overdressed when we consider the tone of the festival?

Double denim is chic, yes, but for street style! Aishwarya’s press meet outfits have been kept surprisingly casual, even though this set is custom-made by Falguni Shane Peacock. The only outfit that did do her justice was this oddball candy striped Leal Daccarett maxi gown. Christmas came in very early this year, and we are glad!
