These Cycling Shorts On Deepika Padukone Are A Rare Fashion Misstep. We Prefer PeeCee’s Skorts

We are starting our Tuesday with a diva-off! Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra were spotted on separate occasions jazzing up their shorts game and we have some thoughts. While shorts do remain one of the most versatile items in a woman’s closet, the styles available can get a bit boring. A bit of research and sweat put into our shorts shopping can make us proud owners of a variety of styles. Trust us, it’s out there. Instead of the usual denim shorts, maybe look for a silk number with drawstrings? It’s so easy!

While we would love to experiment, there is one viral trend that makes our skin crawl, and they are bicycle shorts. Deepika paired hers with a Nike long sweatshirt and we are just not feeling it.

There is a reason why these skin-tight short shorts are called such. They resemble the gear worn by cyclists, even if not made from the same material. The cycling shorts became a major street style trend last year. Ushered in by the Kardashian clan, at one point cycling shorts were being worn with literally everything, even suit blazers. While we love their booty-hugging quality and the fact that they are super comfortable, they don’t really translate to reality outside of the Instagram aesthetic. Also, #Cameltoe!

PeeCee chose a water-colour printed toile set from the label Dakota Jinx. The makers of boudoir clothing and accessories, this label indeed knows how to make the prettiest skorts. This 90s throwback trend (remember divider skirts?) is honestly our idea of doing shorts a bit different and we can’t get enough of it. Priyanka kept things chic with some strappy block heels and boater hat, how fabulous!
