5 Cosy Christmas Reads To Get You In The Festive Mood
I love winters. Why? Well, because this is the season when the holiday and the festive spirit are merged together! I mean, who wouldn’t want to enjoy holidays while celebrating a festival? Personally, I love doing just that. More often than not, I end up spending my winter holidays curled up on my couch or my favourite seat and reading a book with a cup of steaming hot chocolate. Sounds so relaxing, doesn’t it? But there is a twist to this. Every time around Christmas, I change my usual book genres and read anything and everything that has a Christmas-y vibe to it. And this year around, there were some really good Christmas-themed books that were published that have me completely immersed. Wondering which books I’m talking about? Well, I’m here to share them with you!
I’ve loved books since I was a little kid. Give me any genre and I would read it. Growing up, I did have a few genres that I would lean more towards and so when I realised this I decided to do something about it so that I don’t get bored of my favourites. And so I came with the traditions to read festive and Christmas-themed books during my winter holidays.

And that habit has stayed with me even now. In fact, this year I decided to spice it up and read books that were published this year and the ones that had a holiday genre to them. Want to know what they are? Well, here are my 5 cosy Christmas books that are sure to get you in the festive mood:
1. Blame It on the Mistletoe by Beth Garrod
This book is the perfect funny holiday rom-com. It is a story about two girls that swap lives and what happens next is what I call a Christmas adventure!
2. The Holiday Swap by Maggie Knox
Similar to the first book, even this is a swapping story about two identical twins who swap 12 days before Christmas. This is an international bestseller with all the feel-good and holiday vibes.
3. The Santa Suit: A Novel by Mary Kay Andrews
This book is all about second chances and celebrating the magic of Christmas. It is a delightful, heartwarming story that talks about love, family, loss, and the will to never give up.

4. Duke, Actually: A Novel by Jenny Holiday
It is everything – sugar and spice. This book is the after-dark hallmark Christmas story that you never knew you needed until you came across it. Personally, one of my favourites.
5. The Mistletoe Countess by Pepper Basham
This book is a perfect, ideal marriage of English historical fiction and romantic comedy. It is a moving novel that offers a story full of secrets, regret, obligation, danger, and of course love. The perfect Christmas book, if I say so.
A book in one hand and hot chocolate in the other is how I like to spend my Christmas. And if you’re even briefly like me, then give these books a shot and I promise you they will change your view of holidays. Happy reading!
