In the sea of new-age silhouettes, a classic saree is getting an upgrade. Experimenting and more, sarees by India’s biggest, and fresh designers are finding a match in snazzy blouses, slim pallus, and exquisite matha-pattis. Amongst the list of these fresh additions, blouses are soaking in all the spotlight. From underboob cut to feather-laden fun, blouses are having a moment, this wedding season. So, why not take some style inspiration from these celebrity-favourite designs?

Bhumi’s Deep Cut And Colour Galore

Actress Bhumi Pednekar’s latest sartorial experiments have been a treat for us to watch. Be it a Disney gown, or a colourful saree, Pednekar loves to break the norms that restrict her. In her latest collaboration with a classic drape, Bhumi walked that extra mile to experiment. Wearing label–Qbik, Bhumi coupled a maroon underwire blouse, with a sizzling pant saree. Here the combination of India’s beloved bandhani, and modern-day cuts curated Bhumi’s outstanding look, which is the perfect blend of traditional maximalism, and contemporary romance. Styling the look, Bhumi accessorised her saree with statement brass bangles and picked up a statement choker to seal it at once.

Jacquline’s Feather Fairytale

Actress Jacqueline Fernandez is a keeper of some of the most interesting blouse designs, that we’ve seen Indian actresses sport. For the trailer launch of her Ranveer Singh-starrer film–Cirkus, Jacqueline chose the merry-colour red in a unique saree design. The ruffled saree in Christmas-approved red was masterfully teamed with a furry blouse. Coming straight from designer Ridhi Mehra’s exclusive collection for Aza, the red saree featured a heavily embellished, feather blouse that can double up the role of a crop top. Giving it a Parisian aesthetic, Fernandez styled her hair into a sleek ponytail and dipped her toes into a pair of crystal heels.

Sayani’s Go-To Glam

Actress Sayani Gupta tops my inspiration list when it comes to fashion. Taking a unique road to style herself, Gupta has the power to slay both glamorous cuts and retro polkas. For fellow industry pal–Richa Chadha’s wedding, Gupta loaned a piece from designer Dolly J to turn heads. On Sayani, we spotted Dolly’s latest ode to Bollywood glimmer, through her Cleo kamdani saree set. A part of the pale-lilac ensemble was a bustier choli, dipped in twinkling crystals, and a matching saree, ending with a feather trim. The road to party-minimalism was achieved by Gupta with the sorbet-hued drape, and a low-cut, string blouse. A marvellous pick for cocktail evenings or an intimate pre-wedding function.

Kriti Sanon’s Snazzy Halter Cut

During the press tour of her latest release–Bhediya, Kriti Sanon, and her longtime stylist– Sukriti Grover, dished some fiery looks. From sporty-chic to sarees, Sanon was a sight to behold in every silhouette. Particularly sarees, Kriti experimented with a multitude of designs, with the hope of not repeating an already worn cut. One of her many saree looks was this black saree by designer–Dilnaz Karbhary. The actress’ sheer saree was teamed with an embellished, halter-blouse, supported by black satin strings. The combination of clustered-gold and sequin pallu made up for an extravagant ensemble.

Deepika’s Bossy Bandeau

Actress Deepika Padukone wore some delightful, showstopping silhouettes for her jury-special appearance at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. For her two, fabulous saree looks, Padukone picked up a bandeau, and strapless blouse, designed by designer Sabyasachi. To match her coffee-hued, sequin saree, Padukone chose a less glittery, black blouse. Allowing the drape to lead the look, Padukone’s blouse was teamed with a gemstone, gold headpiece, dramatic earrings, beehive hairdo, and kohl eyes.

Kiara’s Spin To The Infinity Cut

Actress Kiara Advani put her perspective on the viral infinity blouse in a swan-like white saree. The embellished white blouse, and saree by designer Manish Malhotra, featured the elegance of a see-through, net pallu, coupled with chikankari embroidery, and a glitter accent. For a hint of colour play, Advani chose to accessorise with a pair of boxy earrings in pistachio green and ruby red. The beauty of this underboob cut is its compatibility with saree, blouses, and festive sets, which make it a smart purchase.

So, which design are you picking?
