From Glitter Gucci To Silk Pyjamas, Stars Walked The LACMA Art + Film Gala Red Carpet In Surprising Sartorial Choices
This past weekend, the 11th annual Art + Film Gala at the LACMA saw a sea of celebrities in their sartorial best. From Kendall Jenner, and Kim Kardashian to Sydney Sweeney, and Billie Eilish, celebrities walked the red carpet in unusually stylish attires. For many, the idea of red carpet dressing was packaged with silk pyjama sets, while some others picked up opera gloves, and see-through gowns to pose for the camera lens. Kendall Jenner
A nod to this year’s most viral fashion trends was Kendall Jenner’s see-through, belly-baring gown. For the supermodel, the idea of a red carpet look was channelled through Burc Akyol’s Cariatide 2.0 dress. The not-so-flattering fit on Jenner featured a sheer fabric overlay, decorated with two-strap leather detailing around the bust, and a metallic silver skirt, sprinkling some contrast fabric play. Jenner masterfully styled the look with minimal makeup, and hair left loose.

Kim Kardashian
Accompanying her sister was Kim Kardashian, who refused to let go of Balenciaga. Dressed up again in a piece from the luxury label, was Kardashian at the film gala in Los Angeles. The leather silhouette on Kim featured a form-fitting fabric, that screamed discomfort in length. Kardashian’s neck to hands to toe look, was all black, including her pair of pointed heels. What brought a hint of colour play was Kardashian’s sun-dyed blonde curls.

Sydney Sweeney
Unlike the Kardashian-Jenner sisters, Sydney dressed up as a barbie in a pink dress. For the gala, the Euphoria star picked up a frothy pink Giambattista Valli. The flare-laden silhouette featured the much-required flounce, and described the signature Valli design drama through flower-motif sleeves. Accompanying the look was a pair of candy-pink stockings, and glitter platform heels, with hair sealed into a neat bun.

Billie Eilish And Her New Lovestory
Billie Eilish surprised the internet with her red carpet look and her plus-one for the gala. Cuddling her partner–Jesse Rutherford, in a Gucci quilt, was Billie. The couple made their relationship, red-carpet official in Gucci coordinated sets. The lustrous golden, silk pyjama sets featured an intricate overlay of lace work and were teamed with a matching monogrammed eye mask. We are heading to find ourselves a boy, and such cute pyjama sets.

Olivia Wilde
Wild(e) as ever, actress/filmmaker Olivia Wilde brought her favourite Hollywood romance to the red carpet. The chevron Gucci dress on the star presented inverted triangular lines in shimmering silver and metallic purple. To my surprise, Wilde rounded up the look with a pair of latex red opera gloves and matching open-toe heels. She further settled for dainty earrings, and let her hair loose.

Rosé
Blackpink’s Rosé too arrived for the gala in a black YSL ensemble. The musician/performer’s two-strap gown in black featured a hooded veil, and two, side-cutouts. Rounding up the look, Rosé picked up some edgy gold jewellery and dressed her tresses into a messy braid.

The popular socialite brought both bling and went midriff-baring with her glitter set. The charcoal-coloured silhouette displayed the usual amount of glitter, with a cowl-neck detailing, and massive cut-outs on the side. She further styled the look with her signature high ponytail and posed next to her husband–Carter Reum.

Popular TikToker–Addison Rae’s risqué gown from LILY et Cie was a head-turning pick. The shimmer-laden, grape-coloured, long-trailing silhouette, featured a plunging neckline, supported by a cowl neck, and a tassel-laden neckpiece. She further styled the look with romantic open curls and a berry lip colour.

Another guest of Gucci was an actress–Jodie Turner-Smith. The After Yang star arrived in a version of a chandelier chic gown by the luxury label.
