Bollywood Did NYE Fashion In So Many Ways. We Love Alia Bhatt’s Beachy Alternative
There’s a growing trend among young people to not fall prey to the pressure to get ‘turnt’ one New Year’s Eve and doing a low-key party instead. Given that bars across the city get stuffed with party goers and the cost of getting into one will require giving up a limb, it seems economical to skip it on NYE at commercial places. Having said that, I am not one of those people! I love the spectacle of new year’s. The prep of keeping hydrated all day, living on the dance floor for hours even after the clock strikes midnight and waking up with the worst dry mouth is my idea of a great time. And this year was no different.
As much as I love to party though, I don’t prefer playing dress-up on the night itself. Any other night I would grab my shiniest of mini to go out but NYE calls for some heavy-duty practical clothing that can endure all the snug spaces and Punjabi dance battles. That means I am in a pair of sexy fitted pants and a smart top, chunky boots and a jacket.
There are really so many to do NYE fashion, many of which we saw on B-town’s finest as well. Many celebrities decided to jet off to picturesque locations for the holidays and made it a point to ring 2020 in their own fabulous ways.

Glam Squad
Arguably, one of the best looks of the night came from the seriously underrated fashion couple Anushka Sharma and Virat Kholi, The leggy beauty chose a dazzling Rohit Gandhi+Rahul Khanna overlapped beaded gown in galactic hues of the midnight skies, from their ‘Interstellar’ collection. She paired the sultry number with tall shoes and went all out with the smokey eye makeup. Virat was dapper in a tux and was his handsome self as usual.

The couple was joined in Switzerland by yet another style royalty from B-town, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan. We expected Bebo to come up with something OTT for new year’s and she came through with her outfit. Beautifully clad in an all-white ensemble, full with a choker cape, Kareena looked nothing less than a Disney princess in her outfit. She later dressed up the look further in a snug faux fur jacket which looked like it was made from silkworms who never saw the sun their entire lives. I was floored by the exotic coat. I want one so bad!

PeeCee’s Stunning Pink
It looks like Priyanka Chopra Jonas planned on saving her best look of the year for the last. The hot pink PatBO gown came with a plunging v-neckline and long, voluminous sleeves are reinforced with crinoline in the shoulders. The sneaky make of the gown showed off PeeCee’s delicious curves and is yet another number in her growing collection of the sexiest maxi dresses worn in the span of a year. Seriously, how does she do it!

Takin’ It Easy
If you are feeling overwhelmed by all the glamour B-town celebs brought to their NYE celebrations, let us give you some breathing space and mention the ones who took it easy. While Alia Bhatt soaked up some in cute florals, Jacquline Fernandez spent hers skiing in puffer jackets. This is something that I personally find more relatable. I would join my sister and a couple of other close friends for a tropical vacay on new year’s, the way Taapsee Pannu is doing it RN. Heading to a beach party later in my cutest kaftans and flats, so fun!
