Dressing for 2: Bollywood’s ‘IT’ Couples Show Us How To Do Festive Style The Right Way

Diwali Fashion Bollyood couples

Festivals are more than just about g00d food, glitzy parties and precious gifting. For me, Indian festivals have always been representative of the time we spend together as families. No matter where you are, a festive greeting from a family member is the biggest joy for the day. Another aspect of desi festivities that I have always loved are is the fabulous looks we get to create for them. From pretty lehengas to wearing a saree for the first time, festivals hold a special place for us when it comes to fashion.

Touching back upon the aspect of family, desi women are big on dressing every single person they spend their holiday with. I still pick out my dad’s kurta pajama for a Diwali party. My sister, on the other hand, has to force my brother-in-law into “itchy” sherwanis by bribing him with unlimited desserts for the evening. A problem we suspect Bollywood’s ‘IT’ couples did not have to face this Diwali because boy did they turn out some pretty gorgeous ensembles.

These beautiful couples are proof that couple’s dressing is the funnest form of mixing and matching styles. We are given additional opportunities to play with colours and textures when there is a partner to do it with!

Saif And Kareena Twin In Blues

First up, we have the Nawab and Begum themselves! Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan made a case for conscious fashion this Diwali in their Good Earth couture matching garbs. Bebo’s ‘Paanch-Phool Siyahi‘ print Gajji Silk lehenga is paired with a traditional silk blouse with Tilla and Kacchi Taar embellishments. We loved the fact that there was a multitude of shades of blues in their outfits. All of them look uber pretty!

Virat And Anushka Choose Contrast

The usually twinning couple, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma chose to take a different route with their Diwali outfits. A complete contrast, Anushka’s Sabyasachi lehenga comes in warm colours and traditional temple motifs to makes for a great ethnic moment. While Virat kept it simply elegant with an all-white ensemble and black mojaris. we love it!

Shahid And Mira’s Subtle Styling

We have always been a fan of Mira Kapoor’s understated sense of style. She’s not a fan of elaborate and OTT looks and instead replaces it with simple detailing that is sweet and feminine. Her ruffled saree from  JADE by Monica and Karishma is super cute. Standing next to Shahid’s kurta and pants by Kunal Rawal, the couple cuts a sharp image indeed!
