Boi’s Budget Buys: The Shift Shirt Dress

By  |

One universal fashion problem for most girls is, “What do I wear today?” This question has the power to reduce us to a hysterical mess. Fashionista or not, nobody wants sartorial answers that cost a fortune. And let’s just be honest, you’re THE style star if you know how to dress to the nines on a budget. So I’ve taken up this Herculean task: every Saturday, I’ll round up a budget-friendly ensemble for you, all BELOW Rs 10,000. Yes! It’s going to be an entire outfit — from head-to-toe — without breaking the bank. Quite a challenge, right? Scroll down to shop this budget ensemble, and don’t forget to come back every Saturday to discover an outfit that’s yet another steal!

You know, shift dresses are the bomb. They’re structured, and yet do not hug EVERY. SINGLE. CURVE. of your body, which means the day you’re wearing one, you can ditch the corset and shapewear. Win-win! Make that a shirt shift dress and you’re gold — wear it to work and you look like you mean business, and take it to the bar and you’re stylishly set. What’s not to love?

As you may have noticed, various hues of pink are my thing right now. So when I was hunting online for a look that works well at work and for evening drinks, this salmon pink shift shirt dress caught my eye. I love the finish of it — so well tailored. Sleeveless and buttoned-down, this one is the perfect cross between sexy and classy.

I’m letting the dress do the talking here so the accessories are minimal — don’t you love these white strappy flatforms? Pink and white as a combo is a no-brainer. Add a simple yet funky ear cuff (just on one ear, please!) and a tan handbag (because, let’s face it, tan is the new black) and you’re set! The little blue detailing on the bag really won me over.

And there you have it! Oh, and did I mention? This entire look is under 4k. Man, I love this job.
