Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016 concluded last weekend and left us with tons of inspiration to revamp our wardrobes. From flowy, comfy anti-fits to stunning metallic silks, the runways were overflowing with Indo-fusion style that was both aspirational and wearable.
While I’m all for boho silhouettes, my personal style is more tailored, more structured. I prefer clothes that fit me well, hug the right curves and show my shape rather than ones that make me look like I slipped into a sack. So while I did love the variety of dhoti pants that were on display, I decided to tweak it a bit to give you a more structured pair, like this very cool, very sexy one from Rouka.
When putting together a look like this, the pants should be the focus. Which means, the separates and accessories it is teamed with should be minimal. I think white and grey is quite an underrated combination. So I took it upon myself to try and correct that (*insert grin*). A basic white crop top, small ear studs, and a simple silver clutch are all you need. What does give this outfit the pop of colour it needs is this pair of suede patterned pumps — not only do I love the pink in it (again!), but the black-and-white design element at the back makes it really stand out.
What’s cool about this Indo-Western fusion look is that it works for a night out at the club or for your bestie’s sangeet. If you want to wear these pants to work, switch up the crop top for a basic tank top and cover up with a well-fitted blazer — so official yet so stylish.
