Boi’s Budget Buys: The ‘It’s The Time To Disco’ Look

Boi’s Budget Buys: The ‘It’s The Time To Disco’ Look

One universal fashion problem for most girls is, “What do I wear today?” This question has the power to reduce us to a hysterical mess. Fashionista or not, nobody wants sartorial answers that cost a fortune. And let’s just be honest, you’re THE style star if you know how to dress to the nines on a budget. So I’ve taken up this Herculean task: every Saturday, I’ll round up a budget-friendly ensemble for you, all BELOW Rs 10,000. Yes! It’s going to be an entire outfit — from head-to-toe — without breaking the bank. Quite a challenge, right? Scroll down to shop this budget ensemble, and don’t forget to come back every Saturday to discover an outfit that’s yet another steal!

You can’t not love December, no matter how crappy this year has been. Every year, the streets are decked up, the nightclubs jam-packed, tinsel lights on every window…ah, December. Now that we’re smack in the middle of the month, party season is on in full swing, which means meeting friends you haven’t seen all year, dancing the night away, and dressing up to turn heads wherever you go. There is pressure, yes — after all, everyone is putting themselves out there, wanting to look the best, right?

This is *the* month to pull out all the stop, as far as your party wardrobe goes. And what better way to stand out then donning some glitter and shine? It’s the one time of the year when no one will judge you for looking like the shiny disco ball, wherever you go. Heck, I love looking like one all year round. And what with glitter lips, hair, eyebrows, and everything taking over the sartorial world, you’ll be bang on trend, too. Win-win? I think so.

So keeping the shine in mind, I’ve put together a quintessential party look for you this week. The idea with glitter and sequins is to balance the shine and the subtle — people shouldn’t need sunglasses to have a conversation with you. That being said, you can actually get away with a little dazzle on EVERY piece that you’re wearing, as long as you pair them all well.

I absolutely love this Zara sequinned top — with a mix of black and blue sequins, it’s just the right amount of bling. Pair it with this patent leather black mini skirt from Mango on Asos, and you’ve got one hella sexy outfit right there. It’s the buckle and wrap details on the skirt that sold me. Plus the asymmetrical hem gives a sensual peek-a-boo feel that totally works.

Now, we all know, that no matter how hot your outfit is, the wrong choice of shoes and bag can really kill a look. So make sure you pair this sexy thang with equally haute add-ons. Enter these glittery ankle-strap sandals from Koovs and Dressberry box clutch. Keep the accessories to the minimum (remember, no sunglasses), with these classy stone earrings from Pipa Bella — and ta-dah! You’re done and done. See? Glitter and shine on every piece you’ve donned, and yet not overwhelming.

I’d suggest you skip the glitter lips on this look, unless you’re feeling especially adventurous — because, hey! If you are, I’d say, go for it!

Send us your party selfies soon! I’m off to spend 2 hours dressing up for my night. Till next week!
