Bhumi Pednekar’s Recent Looks Reveal Glitter Is Going Nowhere

Occasion dressing has always been closely related to tons of glitter and sequins. Branching from the idea of 70s’ disco-aesthetic, some of our favourite celebrities from the era provided proof of this trend’s growing popularity through chainmail dresses, cowl necklines, and high-octane numbers. And ever since, celebrities never fail to showcase a slice of sequins frequently. But with candy colours marking their territory this year, sequins lived half the year under their shadows.

But not until actress Bhumi Pednekar chose to bring it out of the closet. The Govinda Naam Mera actress pulled off three risky, and sporty looks in mood-bursting glitter, and reminded us of the December party. Through her three well-styled ensembles, Pednekar tutored three distinct variations of styling glitter this season.

Earlier this month, the actress arrived for the trailer launch of her new Bollywood masala film– Govinda Naam Mera, wearing a highlighter green short suit by H&M. The mood-bursting charm of the colour, and the bling packaged the ensemble for us. To make it more alive, Pednekar dipped her toes in a pair of Prada, platform heels in black, which we feel could’ve been neutral-toned instead. To balance, the drama, the actress settled for middle-parted hair and expressed her obsession towards celebrities’ new way of capturing looks by relishing a sandwich.

The next look to arrive on Bhumi’s Instagram grid was in contrast to her neon green number. Again, styled by Mohit Rai, Bhumi wore a form-fitted black gown, with one sleeve. The marvellous number welcomed glitter in its minimal state, and put the spotlight on the tailoring. The dress by label– Sol Angelann, also complimented her coffee-coloured curls and needed no jewellery to complete the look.

For the third, and one of our favourite looks from the list, Bhumi joined hands with her new favourite celebrity stylist–Rhea Kapoor, to bring the party to her closet. In pictures topping her Instagram grid, Pednekar wore a Rami Kadi gown, that brings couture to play. The underbust, corset-esqué detailing was a daring pick for Bhumi to sport. The silhouette’s mermaid-hued fabric walked an extra mile, with due credit given to the long trail. The star further wrapped up the holographic look, with a pair of equally glittery heels, and again decided to stay away from jewellery. This standout number is a perfect fit for a New Year’s Eve and pays homage to fashion’s love for disco glitter.
