I hate Summers. I mean, it’s too hot to firstly breathe in this weather and secondly wearing clothes is such a hassle. As someone who loves to experiment with loads of layers, hot Summer days just kill the energy in my closet. But let’s look at the bright side, because well we have to. As much as we hate the hot weather, it’s also a time when we can cut the chase and just live in our basics. Right? I mean when else will you get the time to experiment with a super basic, signature ghar ka kapda–the tank tops, cotton pyjama sets and loose-fitted white shirts?
And while I am obsessing over these simpler silhouettes, Bollywood divas have been out there singing the same song. Yes, from Kiara Advani to Shanaya Kapoor stars are reliving the hot summer dream in their colourful bodysuits, tank tops teamed with fun denim and skirts. And an example of that exact same thing was Kiara’s latest outing in a pair of denim jeans and a well-fitted bodysuit. Slaying in a metallic grey basic bodysuit, Kiara opted for a pair of pearl laden, butterfly blue denim. Keeping her daytime look extremely casual, Kiara’s ensemble included a pair of gold hoop earrings as she sealed her hair into a ponytail, coz yaar bohot garmi hai!
Letting her skin breathe, Kiara applied a thin layer of makeup, defined her eyebrows, and opted for a blush plum lip shade. I mean this look definitely is our summertime dress code and is the coolest way to style closet basics. While sequinned or embroidered denim departed starry closets many moons back, its arrival reminds us of actress Deepika Padukone’s experiments with the trend. Choosing from a variety of cuts and silhouettes, you can team a bell-bottom with a fun top like Mrunal Thakur or even funky floral mom jeans like Alia Bhatt. The addition of embellished denim can sprinkle some sass to your stack of cotton sundresses, making your casuals look cooler.
