From Jennifer Lawrence To Harry Styles, A Handful Of Stars Brought The Charm Of Red Carpet Dressing At TIFF 2022

The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is back with film screenings and high-fashion moments. From Jennifer Lawrence and Harry Styles to Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, our favourite stars stepped out in their sartorial best for important film premiers. Besides some ailing fashion moments and n0t-so fascinating red carpet appearances these celebrities arrived in our most favourite style moments from this year’s TIFF.

Jennifer Lawrence 

Actress and new mom, Jennifer Lawrence served a dreamy yet edgy look in black. The actress stepped out in Dior Haute Couture. The black, see-through number on Lawrence, featured an off-shoulder neckline, with ruffled ends. The long-trailing, sheer net in black, came attached to a sultry bodysuit. Jennifer completed the look with a pair of black, lace-up heels and tiny emerald, tear-drop earrings.

Harry Styles

The man who is never underdressed attended TIFF 2022 in his all-time favourite Gucci. The lover of pant-suits picked two shades of green to make a statement. Styles attempted a colour-on-colour technique, with a rich green, double-breasted blazer, teamed with a pair of sap green pants. With drama stitched to his silhouette, Harry added a floral accent in green to his lapel and picked a green handbag to complete the look.

Taylor Swift

After a sparkling crystal look at this year’s VMAs, Taylor chose to channel a golden look for the Toronto International Film Festival. The songstress appeared in a spectacular golden gown by label–Louis Vuitton. The designer piece featured a floor-length finish, and multiple chain detailing around the sleeves and the neckline. Taylor completed the look with a matchy-matchy golden hair mood and subtle makeup.

Sadie Sink

Posing alongside Taylor, was our very own Sadie Sink. The Stranger Things alum arrived in a crisp, brick-red suit from the designer house–Stella McCartney. Sink’s edgy ensemble featured an oversized pantsuit, layered over a skin-coloured bodysuit, and teamed with black loafers. Much like Taylor, Sadie too matched her hair to her ensemble and added some colour to her lips.

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan channelled a sunny mood at this year’s TIFF. The Never Have I Ever star came dressed in a piece from designer Jason Wu’s Fall 2022 collection. The three-tier voluminous, strapless attire in yellow, featured an asymmetrical hemline, and a massive conceptualised bow accent in the centre. Maitreyi styled the look with a pair of gold, tie-up heels and hair sealed into a romantic bun.

Lily James

Actress Lily James gave an interesting spin to the trendsetting, blazer dress with designer Victoria Beckham. For the premiere of her new rom-com, What’s Love Got to Do With It? James picked a crisp black look with a double-breasted blazer dress, decorated with high-collar pussy bow detailing. Lily nailed it with her choice of thigh-high boots and a black box clutch.

For her upcoming release in Harry Styles’ My Policeman, actress Emma Corrin arrived in a swim-suit-inspired, couture gown. The black, sultry silhouette featured long-trailing black sleeves, an off-shoulder neckline and a pair of black stockings. Emma completed the look with dramatic, glitter makeup, diamond earrings and a pair of black pump heels.

For the Glass Onion premiere, actress Janelle Monáe arrived in a monumental silhouette. Parading in wearable art, Janelle opted for a sculptural gown by designer Iris van Herpen. The Cosmogonic Myth gown replicated the visuals of floral buds and leaves in silver. To match the OTT look, Janelle walked the red carpet in a massive, curled hair bun and opted for minimal accessories.
