Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer–Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani has been receiving a lot of praise at the box office. The Karan Johar directorial cooked the magic of a big-budget Bollywood film like a pro and brought the best times to the cinema. Be it the fashion or the film’s songs, there is a lot that has been keeping everybody talking about it. And adding to the excitement, Johar dropped one of the most-awaited songs from the film’s end credits–“Kudmayi.” A beautiful melody about weddings, and bidaai, Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh’s presence lights up every possible frame. Like always, Johar and his collaboration with ace costume designer Manish Malhotra, has brought some unique trends under the spotlight, which btw every bride should definitely try.
1. Beauty Favourites
Like most celebrity brides, Alia Bhatt’s character Rani, suggests wearing a nude, no-makeup look with a definition given to eyes with a thin layer of kohl. Bringing our attention to the centre, she adds a red bridal bindi and nude lips.
2. Bangles And Manicure
For Bengali or Punjabi brides who are looking for more options, apart from the traditional chooda, take inspiration from Bhatt’s stack of bridal bangles, incorporating shakha pola bangles, punctuated with kundan and bejewelled pieces. A studded, flower-laden haath phool adds to the delicate henna design, with a clean French manicure striking the balance between minimalism and an opulent bridal look.
3. Matha Patti Is A Must
The trick of accessorising here is to replace, shoulder-grazing jhumkas with a pair of ear studs, and decorate your forehead with an embellished matha patti. She further added a dainty nose pin to match the signature look of her character in the film.
4. Longer Veils For Life
There is nothing that beats the beauty of long bridal veils. Floor-sweeping, see-through designs will add a mirror effect to your bridal ensemble. Longer veils also work as a double dupatta to serve the purpose of walking the aisle and sitting on the mandap for the ceremony.
5. Bejewelled Borders
Manish Malhotra again weaved a new bridal trend for us, with the gift of Alia Bhatt’s character look in the film. For her dulhan lehenga, Malhotra decorated the edges of her dupatta with red ruby danglers, decorating the borders with golden leaf embroidery. The bejewelled design not only accentuates the bridal look but serves as an accessory too.

6. Skip The Red
Last but not least, Bhatt suggests skipping on the usual red ensemble, for a variety of other colour options. Explore in the same colour family, and work around ivory, gold or burnt orange. Like Alia, you can work around a single shade, and place traditional motifs around.
