Cannes 2025: Aishwarya Rai Wears Cape With Sanskrit Shlok Written On It. Deets Inside!
Aishwarya Rai turned heads with two incredibly gorgeous looks. Read on to know more about it.

The Cannes Film Festival is on the verge of ending, but well, and the queen has walked the red carpet. Yes, we are talking about Aishwarya Rai and her iconic red carpet moments at Cannes. For her second look this year, the actor wore a Gaurav Gupta outfit. She also carried a huge cape that had a Sanskrit shlok written on it. The designer recently shared details of the same.
What Did The Cape Say?
Indian designer Gaurav Gupta shared a video of Aishwarya Rai’s gown and the details. The gown was handwoven in Varanasi, and while the outfit caught everyone’s attention, the cape also did not go unnoticed. The cape that Aishwarya wore had a Sanskrit shlok written on it, which read: “Karmanye vadhikaraste Ma Phaleshu Kadachana, Ma Karmaphalaheturbhurma Te Sangostvakarmani.”
In short, this verse means that one should focus on doing their actions and not worry about the outcome of them. We have often heard the phrase that says a person should not attach themselves to the action and its outcome, and that’s what the shlok means.
For the unversed, Aishwarya wore a black gown with silver detailing on it, and she carried a silver bulku cape with the dress. A side-parted hair and glam makeup with bold red lips completed her look.
Aishwarya Rai’s first look on the red carpet was also hailed by everyone. She wore a stunning while and gold saree by Manish Malhotra, styled with exquisite jewellery. Straight hair and red sindoor completed the actor’s gorgeous look! Cannes is incomplete without Aishwarya Rai’s presence. And this time, she brought an A-game to the red carpet. We’re glad!
