Another celeb/stylist duo that has slowly crept into our look-books is the talented Mohit Rai who has made a fashion girl out of the ever-stylish Sonakshi Sinha. Mohit’s carefully curated looks for Sona have been a motley mix of exciting and fun. There is one fashion trope, though, that we have loved to see take form on Sonakshi and it is an important lesson in dressing up for your body type!
Pro Tip: How do you know that you are an apple-shaped body type like Sonakshi? Characterised with having shoulders wider than hips, the inverted triangle or apple-shaped body types come with a slender bottom.
It might not look like it but there is a reason why Sonakshi’s outfits always look so smart and complete. The actress has been dipping pretty hard into the 3-piece fashion rule. According to the rule, you can always switch up an ensemble to look more ‘put together’ by adding a third piece. Women with strong and broad shoulders sometimes find it difficult to find tops that fit them right throughout. Either they are too tight on top or too baggy at the mid-section. The solution? Cute crop tops! These little trendy babies take the pressure of finding a good fit for the waist and focus on the bust.

We are so in love with this powder blue suit on Sonakshi! The flared pants work great in adding proportion to her bottom half, making her overall frame more even. The actress loves wearing high waisted flared trousers and pants, which are always a good fit with the crop tops. We can also look at flared skirts and culottes for the same effect!

The Loose Layer
The trick to buying a flattering jacket is to check where the hem of it hits. For women with an apple-shaped figure, long-line and A-line coats look very flattering, which is what we have seen on Sonakshi quite often. We can also go for vests or jackets that fall at the hip or upper thigh.

While the ensembles Sonakshi has been choosing are already a set, she has been doing it in diverse ways. Cropped pants with long jackets or long palazzos with mid-length jackets, the lady has been playing with lengths and it’s inspired.
