Exclusive: Madalsa Sharma On Being Asked To Wear Butt Pads, Bikini, “If You Want To Cast On Basis…”

At this point, we all know how actors, especially actresses, are subject to casting couches or their bodies are being s*xualised. But whenever someone shares such experiences, we cannot help but feel sad over the same. When Madalsa Sharma had a conversation with Siddhaarth Aalambayan on The Male Feminist, we couldn’t help but think about how long these practices have been going on. However, she kept our spirit for a better future alive by revealing how she stood her ground even when she was young. Know what she shared below.

Madalsa Sharma Recalls Being Asked To Wear Butt Pads

During the conversation, Siddhaarth Aalambayan asked how her journey was while working in the South Indian film industry. He highlighted that many women had talked about the obsession with bust size or naval there. Madalsa Sharma reflected that she didn’t know if this still happened, but at the time she was asked to wear butt pads, which would make her look fuller. When the host asked if she ever listened to them, she said, “Not at all.” Madalsa added, “I said that I won’t be wearing it. You have cast me like this, right, for how I look. So this is me. I want to be lean. I am not wearing anything and looking curvy.”

She Was Asked To Wear A Bikini

However, this was not the only time someone tried to act creepily around her. The actress recalled her meeting with a filmmaker at age 19. He said that he was looking for a girl who was comfortable wearing a bikini; to this, Madalsa thought that it was not such a big deal. However, she wanted to understand the story and whether it justified her wearing a bikini. He told her that he just wanted to see her body language and whether she would be able to perform. Madalsa stood her ground and told him that she was sorry, adding that acting is her profession and whatever she has to wear, she is comfortable wearing it in front of the camera, but to wear it in front of him is not part of her job. Madalasa also said, “If you want to cast me on the basis of trusting a talent, then you can, and if you don’t, I know where the door is.”

Madalsa’s courage, especially when she was still a teen, is truly admirable. We are proud that she stood her ground no matter what.
