Five Suspects Including Zubeen Garg’s Cousin Taken Into Judicial Custody In Singer’s Death Case

Five suspects in Zubeen Garg’s death case have been taken into judicial custody. Among the five, Zubeen’s cousin Sandipan Garg and manager Siddhartha Sharma have also been arrested. While the investigation into the veteran singer’s death is still ongoing, the other 3 suspects arrested by authorities are Shyamkanu Mahanta, Nandeswar Bora, and Paresh Baishya. Five Suspects Arrested In Zubeen Garg’s Death Case Sent To 14 Day Custody

According to authorities, all five accused were not represented by lawyers. No bails were filed before the court either. Reports reveal that the suspects are expected to be lodged at Guwahati Central Jail during the investigation, led by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Assam CID, which is currently at a crucial phase now. The five individuals are now sent to a 14-day judicial custody. 

SIT chief and Special DGP (CID) Munna Prasad Gupta also confirmed that the five accused were presented in court following their police custody conclusion to ANI. “We had arrested seven people, and the police custody of five persons has been completed, so we are producing them before the court today. The custody of the remaining two will be over the day after tomorrow,” he said in his statement.

Gupta informed that two witnesses in relation to Zubeen Garg’s death case have appeared at the CID office for questioning. “That takes the total to 10 people who have appeared before the CID. We have also received a communication requesting the names of officers who will be visiting Singapore for an investigation, which is a standard process. We are waiting for their response,” Gupta said.

These arrests come almost a month after Zubeen Garg’s shocking death on September 19, 2025. The Assam Police formed a Special Investigation Team to investigate the case. Over this period, multiple individuals tied to Zubeen professionally and personally have been questioned. The news of Zubeen’s sudden death shocked fans all across India and sparked demands for a transparent and fair investigation so that he can be brought to justice.
