Chinese rising actor Ziyu, who gained popularity by playing the lead role in the popular show Revenged Love, has found himself embroiled in a scandal after an alleged ex-girlfriend accused him of infidelity and ghosting her. The woman, known as Paris Li on Weibo (Chinese social media platform), said they were together in 2023 when Ziyu was supposedly keeping it a secret from his girlfriend at the time, his manager. Paris says that Ziyu admitted his love for her while working at a clothing store, confirming he was single. But she later found out that the Revenged Love actor had been with his manager for two years. Although the couple temporarily broke up over the revelation, Ziyu allegedly assured Paris the relationship was over and convinced her to take him back.
Paris alleges that Ziyu later cut her off and severed all contact because of his ongoing relationship with his manager. She went public with these allegations, releasing intimate photos of the two as evidence and calling for an apology.
Ziyu responded to these allegations by posting a long apology on Weibo. In the apology, he admitted his actions and took responsibility. Ziyu acknowledged his absence of communication and lack of accountability that caused Paris emotional pain.
“I acknowledge that my behaviour caused serious issues and left her feeling left behind,” he wrote. “I accept full responsibility for the hurt I caused and deeply apologise.” He also spoke about rumours concerning his manager, making it clear that there were misunderstandings that led to what happened, but did not excuse him from blame.

After completing his current work commitments, Ziyu concluded his statement by announcing that he will halt public activities in order to reflect on his mistakes and improve. There have been conflicting responses from fans to this controversy, with some supporting the actor and others criticising his behaviour.
