Just recently, BTS V talked about bringing back the Purple Ribbon Project as fans crowd airports and it turns into a chaotic and dangerous situation. He shared how the crowd makes it impossible for him to pose for reporters and asked fans to stay calm in public spaces. His message went viral and soon after that a video of ZEROBASEONE’s Zhang Hao being chased by obsessive fans in China surfaced.
Zhang Hao Mobbed At Restaurant
According to Koreaboo, in the CCTV footage, we can see Zhang Hao allegedly sprinting past a group of sasaeng fans who were chasing him. There was chaos in the restaurant and he had to leave as soon as possible.
Fans expressed outrage over the entire situation. They feel that it’s inappropriate and makes it difficult for idols to conduct everyday activities as simple as eating out in a restaurant. The fans mentioned that no matter what, K-pop idols deserve their personal space and we absolutely agree.
One fan wrote, “These sasaengs were shamelessly chasing, filming and invading Zhang Hao’s personal space while he was trying to eat at a hotpot restaurant in China. This behaviour needs to stop and Zh deserves better security for his safety.” Another fan wrote, “I can’t grasp the idea of following a literal human around like this; like, they need mental help. Do they not realise this is literal harassment and stalking?”

Fans are also calling for his agency to take stronger measures to protect idols in public spaces. Also, it puts other people nearby at risk, as it can lead to injuries and accidents. While fans’ love for their idols is understandable, there should be boundaries created. The artists can enjoy normal activities if their personal space is respected. They are humans too and deserve peace.
