As much as we enjoy travelling abroad, there’s nothing that we like more than our staple diet. I was in Thailand for 10 days and I loved my time there but not more than my maa ke haath ke dal chawal. And it looks like I’m not the only one. In her latest post, Zeenat Aman opened up about how she may be someone associated with ‘western glam’ but she’s a true desi because no matter where she travels in the world, she starts missing Indian food within 2 days.
Taking to Instagram, yesteryear star Zeenat Aman shared an old picture of herself. In the long caption, the actress revealed that her diet is proof of how desi she is. She shared that no matter where she goes in the world, she starts missing Indian food within 2 days and then goes out to look for an Indian restaurant. Zeenat said that while dal chawal is her staple diet, khichdi is her comfort food and she there are no better accompaniments to lunch like papad and achaar.
But hold on, there’s more. Zeenat Aman also shared that her favourite indulgence is dosas from Dakshinayan and she can’t say no to kaju katli. Revealing that she loves mangoes, the actress says that she has jars of namkeen stashed in her bedroom. And guess what? I’ve got namkeen packets stashed in my locker at work. It’s amazing to witness how relatable and desi Zeenat Aman is. Just btw, she has also asked people to recommend local desi dishes to her. And it looks like Manisha Koirala too loves maa ke haath ka khana!
