As per The Sun and Daily Mail, Zayn Malik has again declared himself as a ‘person with considerable control’ at PPM Music Limited, the firm founded to handle the One Direction band. His directorship was revoked in 2016, a year after leaving the group. However, fans saw that his name appeared again on the company’s files, prompting many to believe he had formally rejoined One Direction. According to news sources, he became closer to his former bandmates following Liam Payne’s untimely death in 2024.

Having said that, many industry insiders further clarified that this update did not involve a musical reunion of Zayn and his former bandmates. Multiple outlets like Metro UK, the registration was about brand ownership, finances, and company structure, rather than the revival of the band. Meanwhile, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan are expected to serve as the directors of PPM Music Limited throughout the group’s break. Similarly, Malik’s addition in the formal document is just a structural adjustment and not a comeback.
