Bollywood star Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar, has been breaking all the records at the box office and has been the talk of the town for months. And as the film continues to make its place in people’s hearts, famous comedian Zakir Khan has found himself in the midst of a spotlight after he took a dig at Bollywood, suggesting that the film’s success has left many jealous. During the recent Chetak Screen Awards 2026, many viral clips of Zakir Khan hosting the ceremony alongside Alia Bhatt and Sunil Grover have been spiralling on the internet. One such video that grabbed everyone’s attention was the one where he took a cheeky dig at Bollywood over the massive success of Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar franchise. He said, “You may drop congratulatory messages and stories and say in interviews that it’s your favourite film, but the truth is everyone got jealous of Dhurandhar.”

He further cheekily said that though the bomb blasts were seen in Lyari in Dhurandhar, the smoke was between Mumbai’s Bandra and Juhu. This statement went viral on social media with comments like, “It’s the truth which got no laughs,” and “Brutal moment as they can’t show their faces laughing by editing.” Many sided with the comedian and laughed at his sly dig at the industry after Ranveer Singh’s hit.

The first part of the duology was released in December 2025 and became a success, earning over ₹1300 crore globally. The sequel, Dhurandhar The Revenge, debuted at ₹145 crore and has now grossed over ₹1500 crore globally. Dhurandhar 2 is the first Hindi film to collect ₹1000 crore net at the domestic box office. Aditya Dhar directed the spy thriller, which stars Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, R. Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal parts.
