After Riyan Parag, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 is under another controversy after Punjab Kings (PBKS) spinner Yuzvendra Chahal received much backlash. In the now viral video, the cricketer was seen vaping on a flight. Though he tried being discreet, it was fairly obvious looking at him, and the internet took note. The alleged video is from one of the vlogs of Arshdeep Singh’s YouTube channel.
Yuzvendra Chahal Caught Vaping
After the video went viral, many online claimed that Arshdeep Singh had cut the length of the video after Yuzvendra Chahal’s vape controversy surfaced. Many even questioned this security lapse and asked how he got on the plane with a vape. Many pointed out how he was “risking” everyone’s safety by vaping an e-cigarette on the flight. Other cricketers like Shashank Singh and other PBKS players were sitting around him.
Internet users stated that this was “totally unacceptable” and that such behaviour violated many flight safety rules. They also urged that some action be taken against those who set such standards. This is not the first time that Yuzvendra Chahal has been caught vaping or smoking on social media. In a previous IPL season, a video of him smoking and throwing a cigarette on the road while driving drew major backlash.
Earlier, during the match between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS), a video caught Riyan Parag using a vape inside the dressing room, which also caught such criticism. While it’s not for us to comment on what one does in their personal space, using an e-cigarette on a flight or vaping during an ongoing match only sets bad standards for the young impressionists who look up to cricketers for their life decisions.
