Popular rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh married his childhood love Shalini Talwar before becoming Bollywood’s chartbuster. Their marriage lasted for a decade post which the latter levelled allegations of domestic abuse against the former. During his recently released Netflix Documentary called Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous, he opened up about his separation and allegations made against his family. His sister spoke about how his ex-wife forced him to do shows even after clear signs of mental illness.
Honey Singh On His Divorce
During a conversation in the documentary, Honey Singh opened up about his divorce. He didn’t dwell much into details because he and his wife Shalini Talwar had signed the MoU. He further wished her the best of luck and stated what goes around comes around in life. His sister stated that it was a tough time for the family. “Who all do we have to prove? Nobody will believe us because the world outside was a very difficult place and all the controversies that were happening,” she said.
She also alleged that Talwar forced him to perform during a tour of the United States even though he showed clear signs of mental illness. She further said that he messaged her about things not being right, and asking her to save him during a Skype call. After he disconnected, his ex-wife told his sister, “He has to do this show. You convince him to do this show.” After that, she didn’t have any contact with him for three hours and directly got a call saying that he was hospitalised with stitches in his head.
