2025 is coming to an end, and what an amazing year it has been for K-dramas! From gripping thrillers to slice-of-life stories, this year truly delivered some unforgettable series and here are personal top picks that I loved from beginning to end. So, if you are looking for your next obsession before the year ends, check out this list and have a blast (crying and screaming).
When Life Gives You Tangerines
Of course we had to begin our list with When Life Gives You Tangerines which stars IU and Park Bo-gum and spans decades on Jeju Island. It follows a high-spirited girl and her devoted love through life’s hardships. This emotional slice-of-life story earned global praise for its beautiful cinematography and touching performances and made it a true standout of the year.
Head Over Heels
Head Over Heels features Choo Young-woo and Cho Yi-hyun in a fantasy romance where a young shaman tries to save her first love from tragedy. The mix of fate, emotion, sweet chemistry and supernatural elements kept me hooked till the end.
Undercover High School
Undercover High School brought Seo Kang-joon as an elite agent posing as a high school student to uncover a mystery. It also stars Jin Ki-joo, Kim Min-ju, and others, and the series is full of action, comedy, and twists. It nicely balances school life with the spy world and made it fun and exciting to watch.
Our Unwritten Seoul
Our Unwritten Seoul has Park Bo-young playing identical twins who swap lives to escape their struggles. It explores identity, family, and growth with warmth and realism and delivers a comforting yet powerful story about finding one’s path.
Bon Appétit, Your Majesty
Bon Appétit, Your Majesty is a time-slip fantasy with Yoona as a modern chef who ends up in Joseon and steals the king’s (Lee Chae Min) heart with her delicious food. The visuals, romance, and plot make every episode engaging and delightful.
Study Group
Study Group stars Hwang Min-hyun as a martial arts genius who forms a study group at a tough school while fighting bullies. It nicely blends high-energy action with light comedy and high school tropes.
The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call
The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call follows Ju Ji-hoon as a trauma surgeon rebuilding a struggling unit. Its fast-paced medical action and strong team chemistry make it a must-watch.
Weak Hero Class 2
Weak Hero Class 2 continues with Park Ji-hoon as the underdog hero facing threats in a new school. From intense street battles to deep brotherhood, it’s an absolutely gripping thriller.
Dear X
Dear X stars Kim Yoo-jung as a talented actress hiding a ruthless side due to her past trauma. With top performances and intense drama, it kept me on edge with its complex characters and thrilling twists.
Well, these dramas had me in a hold, and if you still haven’t watched them, go grab your favourite snacks and binge-watch because you won’t regret it.
