Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar has been making headlines even weeks after its release, surpassing films like Pathaan, Jawan, and Animal. On the other hand, his wife, Yami Gautam, also made waves with her latest film, Haq, where her performance made an impact on everyone. But did you know that before the film went on floors, the actress revealed in an interview that she was keen on being a part of it as an actor.

During a chat with News18 Showsha, Yami Gautam said, “When I read his next script, I told him that it was one of those rare moments when I wished I were a guy. The script is so brilliant. It’s such an amazing world.” She was also quick to add that they had made a pact to keep their personal and professional lives separate. She said that the line shouldn’t be blurred, as per them, as she had married a filmmaker.

Gautam said that she respected her husband’s decision to cast the actor who is a better fit for the role, and that they had this understanding since the start of their relationship. On a similar matter, Yami made it to Dhurandhar’s credit slate, and Aditya praised her. The couple originally met on the sets of Uri: The Surgical Strike. They soon fell in love and married in an intimate wedding in 2021. In May 2024, she gave birth to a baby boy named Vedavid.

Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Gaurav Gera, and Sara Arjun in lead roles.
