Kangana Ranaut is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Tejas on October 27 followed by Emergency on November 24. But before you get happy about the upcoming films, we’ve got some bad news. In an official announcement, the actress shared that the release of her film Emergency has been pushed to 2024 due to changes in her film release calendars.

Why Did Kangana Ranaut Postpone Emergency Release?

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Kangana Ranaut revealed that her heart is full of gratitude as people continue asking about the release date of her upcoming film Emergency. Adding that they announced the film’s release on November 24, the actress announced that due to her back-to-back film release calendar and over-packed last quarter of 2023, the release of Emergency has been postponed to 2024. She requested people to bear with her while promising the new release date announcement soon.

The actress also shared that Emergency is the culmination of her entire life’s earnings as well as learnings as an artist while adding that it’s a test of her worth and character. Elaborating further she said the response to the teaser encouraged her team and the film’s crew.

All You Need To Know About Emergency

Emergency is a biographical historical drama film based on the Indian Emergency period of 1975 to 1977. Kangana Ranaut has donned the director and producer’s hat for this film. She is portraying the role of former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi who declared emergency in the country during the abovementioned period due to internal disturbances as well as imminent internal and external threats to the country. The film follows the most controversial periods in the history of India ever since the independence. It also stars Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry Satish Kaushik, and Milind Soman. In fact, this film is the first posthumous film of Satish Kaushik post his death in March 2023.

In January 2023, Kangana Ranaut announced that the shoot of her film Emergency has been wrapped. Sharing some BTS pictures, the actress revealed all the hardships that she faced while working on the film along with the fact that she mortgaged all her properties and every other thing she owns in order to produce this film. She also shared that she struggled with health concerns while working on the film after she was diagnosed with dengue during the first schedule of Emergency and had a low blood cell count during the filming.

Emergency is Kangana Ranaut’s second film as a director. She marked her directorial debut with the 2019 film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi which also stars Jisshu Sengupta, Atul Kulkarni, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Ankita Lokhande. As of now, Kangana Ranaut is currently gearing up for the release of her film Tejas. The film follows the story of an Indian Air Force Pilot. Written and directed by Sarvesh Mewara and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. Kangana Ranaut plays the lead role of IAF pilot Tejas Gill. The film also stars Anshul Chauhan, Ashish Vidyarthi, Varun Mitra and Vishak Nair.
