Woman Sues Cardi B
It all started in July 2023 while Cardi B was performing in scorching heat. And in the viral clip, she was seen asking the fans to toss some water on her for her to cool down. And as per Billboard, Jane Doe said that she followed the same by lightly splashing the water towards the rapper, which multiple audience members were also doing. But in return, her reaction was violent and sudden.
The report further suggested, “Plaintiff, acting by the environment created by Cardi B’s express words and conduct, and in a manner consistent with other attendees, splashed a small portion of her drink in Cardi B’s direction.” It was followed by saying that Cardi forcefully threw a microphone at the plaintiff. The report suggested that the microphone caused the woman physical and emotional trauma.
Jane Doe claimed that after the incident went viral, she felt online harassment and personal embarrassment. This embarrassment intensified when the same microphone was auctioned off for $99,000 online, shortly after the performance. She also sued the beach club for negligence, saying that the venue failed to take precautions after things escalated. She also blamed the security staff for not being aware of the singer’s violent behaviour since she also threw a mic at the DJ the night before.
