South sensations Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna held a grand reception in Hyderabad after tying the knot in Udaipur. Why Was Allu Arjun Barefoot?
Ram Charan arrived at the VIROSH wedding reception with his wife, Upasana Kamineni Konidela. He was dressed in all-black and was seen walking barefoot at the celebrations. His appearance was not a fashion stunt, but because of the deeksha he is currently observing. For the unversed, he is currently undertaking Ayyappa Deeksha, a sacred ritual observed by Lord Ayyappa’s devotees in preparation for the pilgrimage to the Sabarimala Temple in Kerala. And as part of this, they follow a disciplined lifestyle for many weeks before undertaking the pilgrimage.
The observance mostly lasts 41 to 48 days and is considered a period of spiritual preparation. Devotees don black, blue, or saffron ensembles during this and often walk barefoot as a mark of humility and devotion. They are also expected to follow a strict vegetarian diet, keep away from alcohol and other indulgences and follow a disciplined daily routine of prayer and meditation. The rituals also expect devotees to observe celibacy and avoid grooming activities, including shaving or cutting their hair.

The idea behind all of this is to encourage a simple way of living, self-control, and spiritual focus before the final pilgrimage to the Sabarimala temple, where Lord Ayyappa is worshipped. Ram Charan’s barefoot appearance at Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s reception was in keeping with this practice. Despite attending high-profile events, the star chose to adhere to the guidelines of the vow.
