The world was not ready for the unfortunate death of filmmaker and actor Rob Reiner, along with his wife, Michele, in their Brentwood home. Their younger daughter, Romy Reiner, was the one who informed the authorities after she was unable to reach her parents. For the unversed, she reached her parents’ residence in Los Angeles and found their lifeless bodies. She immediately called 911, bringing the authorities to the crime scene. As the investigations began, the initial reports cite fatal stab wounds. Rob’s son, Nick Reiner, is currently the prime suspect and was questioned by LAPD detectives. As per People, police believe that Nick Reiner was the prime suspect, but also clarified that no one is under arrest and that accusation came from multiple sources who have spoken with family members.
Nick, the second son of Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner, was born on September 14, 1993. Unlike his legendary father, he avoided the spotlight and kept his life private. However, he has been upfront about his difficulties with substance usage. Nick also disclosed that he had struggled with substance misuse since he was a teenager. He attended rehab at the age of 15 and has been in and out several times. Nick has been in and out of shelter homes several times, refusing to return to therapy since he chose to do things his own way rather than following the programs they offered. As a result, he became homeless at the age of 18.

After completing rehab at the age of 19, Nick co-wrote the screenplay for Being Charlie, a film partially based on his own life experiences. The film was directed by his father, Rob, who regarded it as one of his most personal endeavours. Nick drew closer to his father, Rob, while filming Being Charlie than he had previously. In an interview with BUILD Series, Nick stated that he was not close to his father growing up.
