Well-known actor Eugene Allen Hackman aka Gene Hackman, and his wife Betsy Arakawa, were found dead in their home on Wednesday. Their house was located at the Santa Fe Summit community. Gene Hackman was a celebrated Hollywood actor with over 100 films that included the likes of Lex Luthor in the Superman movies of the 1970s and 1980s. He was also part of some iconic films like Runaway Jury, The Conversation, and Wes Anderson’s The Royal Tenenbaums. His last big role was as Monroe Cole in Welcome to Mooseport in 2004. Aside from being an actor, Hackman was also an author who wrote several books like Pursuit, Justice For None, Payback At Morning Peak and Wake Of Perdido Star among others.
Not just this, Gene was also a two-time Oscar winner which is a huge achievement. Hackman’s portrayal of Jimmy “Popeye” Doyle in The French Connection (1971) earned him the Best Actor Oscar, while his portrayal of Little Bill Daggett in Unforgiven (1992) earned him the Best Supporting Actor Oscar. In addition, he received Oscar nominations for his roles as Buck Barrow in Bonnie and Clyde (1967), I Never Sang for My Father (1970), and Mississippi Burning (1988).
