In a sudden turn of events, popular television actor Ashish Kapoor was arrested in Pune on Wednesday, after being accused of r*ping a woman. The woman alleged that the actor se*ually assaulted her during a house party in Delhi earlier in August. This arrest of the actor has shocked everyone. Who Is Ashish Kapoor?
Television actor Ashish Kapoor was born in Delhi on October 17, 1984. He initially pursued a career in interior design before transitioning into acting. His debut was in the popular 2010 show Shhh… Koi Hai, followed by Dekha Ek Khwaab, Saraswatichandra, and Molkki – Rishto Ki Angnipariksha. But it was his role as Yuvraj Udayveer Singh in Dekha Ek Khwaab that earned him mainstream recognition. Ashish Kapoor went on to star in the hit TV show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai with Hina Khan and Karan Mehra. He played the role of Naitik’s sister Rashmi’s husband in the show.
About the charges against him- the police stated that the complaint initially alleged that Ashish, along with his friend who hosted the party, and two unidentified men se*ually assaulted her. Along with them, another woman physically assaulted her, too. Later, the woman alleged that Kapoor had r*ped her. Officers said that the initial gang r*pe case would soon be reclassified as a r*pe case. She also said that the assault was recorded, but no such footage has been found as of now.

Police reported that the actor first connected with the complainant on Instagram before inviting her to the house party where the incident occurred. On August 11, an FIR was lodged against him, his friend and his friend’s wife, along with two unknown men. Later, it was revised after she alleged that Kapoor and his friend r*ped her while the woman assaulted her. However, Kapoor’s friend and his wife later applied for anticipatory bail, which was granted.
