What To Watch This Week Of August 7 To 13: Made In Heaven S2, Heart Of Stone, OMG 2, Gadar 2 And More

Are you someone who just doesn’t want to get out of bed on the weekend? Well, guess what? You don’t have to (except to grab the tv remote or your laptop)! If your weekend plan is all about spending the day binge-watching new shows and films, you’re in luck because this weekend has a lot to offer you. Gear up to watch some amazing films and series this week. Here’s a list of all the shows and films releasing on OTT and in theatres this week of August 7 to August 13.

Only Murders in the Building Season 3 (Disney+ Hotstar)

This comedy crime drama starring Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez returns with season 3 and a new mystery. The three strangers with a crime podcast obsession will team up again to solve yet another crime and this time it’s the death of a Broadway actor. Two episodes of the show will release on Disney+ Hotstar on August 8 followed by weekly episodes.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 4 (Disney+ Hotstar)

Inspired by the High School Musical film franchise, this series is a mockumentary musical drama series. Season 4 of this series starring Olivia Rodrigo, Matt Cornett, Joshua Bassett, Sofia Wylie, Julia Lester, Larry Saperstein and more is set to release on Disney+ Hotstar on August 9.

Heart of Stone (Netflix)

Directed by Tom Harper, this spy action thriller is Alia Bhatt’s big Hollywood debut alongside Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan and we just cannot wait to watch this film. It is all set to release on the OTT giant, Netflix on August 11.

Red, White & Royal Blue (Prime Video)

Based on Casey McQuiston’s bestseller book of the same name, this romantic comedy film is the feature film directorial debut of director Matthew Lopez. Starring Taylor Zakhar Perez as the son of the US President and Nicholas Galitzine as the British Prince, this LGBTQ+ romantic will release on Prime Video on August 11.

Made In Heaven Season 2 (Prime Video)

The much-awaited season 2 of the 2019 romantic drama series Made In Heaven starring Sobhita Dhulipala, Arjun Mathur, Jim Sarbh, Kalki Koechlin, Shashank Arora and more is set to premiere on Prime Video on August 10.

The Fabelmans (SonyLIV)

This coming-of-age drama film is loosely based on the director and co-writer Steven Spielberg’s teenage years and his initial years as a filmmaker. This Oscar-nominated film starring Gabriel LaBelle, Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen, Paul Dano and Judd Hirsch was released in the theatres in India in February 2023 and now it’s all set to release on the OTT platform SonyLIV on August 11.

Gadar 2 (Theatres)

The sequel of Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma’s 2001 film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha is set to release on the big screen across the country on August 11. FYI, Utkarsh made his acting debut as a child actor in the first film and will be reprising his role as Tara Singh and Sakeena’s son.

OMG 2 (Theatres)

Starring Pankaj Tripathi, Akshay Kumar and Yami Gautam OMG 2 is a spiritual sequel to the 2012 film OMG – Oh My God! Scheduled to release on August 11 in the theatres, this film will have a courtroom drama.

The Kashmir Files Unreported (Zee5)

Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files got severe backlash and now the filmmaker has made a “documentary series” which allegedly investigates the Kashmir conflict and its history as per the data collected for The Kashmir Files. It will premiere on August 11 on the OTT platform Zee5.

Commando (Disney+ Hotstar)

Adah Sharma and Prem starter action thriller series Commando is set to release on Disney+ Hotstar on August 11. Directed and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, the series also stars Shreya Singh Chaudhry, Amit Tigmanshu Dhulia, Mukesh Chhabra and Vaibhav Tatwawadi.

The Summer I Turned Pretty (Prime Video)

Based on Jenny Han’s novel trilogy of the same name, season 2 of this romantic drama series was released on Prime Video on July 14 followed by a weekly episode every Friday. FYI, this Lola Tung, Christopher Briney and Gavin Casalegno starter series have been renewed for a third season.

Jailer (Theatre)
