The new year has begun and the lively holiday vibe is still on with many movies and shows for everyone to watch. The Raja Saab (Theatres)

Written and directed by Maruthi, it is a fantasy horror comedy where Prabhas plays the main role, alongside Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, Riddhi Kumar, and Zarina Wahab. The plot revolves around a man who needs money fast and hence, he tries to get hold of his old family house and land to fix his problems. Interesting? Well, this movie comes to theatres all over the world on January 9, 2026.

Parasakthi (Theatres)

This Tamil film takes place in the 1960s. Directed by Sudha Kongara, it is based on real events and centres on the powerful Anti-Hindi Imposition agitations that took place in Tamil Nadu. Starring Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa, Sreeleela, Dev Ramnath, Prithvi Rajan, Guru Somasundaram, Basil Joseph, Papri Ghosh, and Rana Daggubati, it will be released on January 10, 2026.

Jan Neta (Theatres)

It is an action thriller about politics. Directed by H. Vinoth, it features Vijay, Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, and Priyamani. The story follows a brave man who fights against bad people in power. Reportedly it is going to be Vijay’s last film before he fully focuses on politics so make sure to check it out in theatres from January 9, 2026.

HIS & HERS (Netflix)

Do you enjoy stories that make you think and stay on the edge of your seat? Well, His & Hers is a mystery series that is soon going to be released on Netflix. It comes from a book by Alice Feeney and stars Tessa Thompson, Jon Bernthal, and Pablo Schreiber. It promises surprises and tension every episode and will premiere on January 8, 2026.

Weapons (JioHotstar)

If you like horror that feels real and creepy, Weapons is a movie to watch. It happens in a small American town where one night, 17 children wake up at exactly 2:17 AM and run away into the dark. They all go to the same class and only one boy, Alex Lily, stays behind. The whole town gets scared and starts to blame a teacher. What happens next? Well, after showing in cinemas, it comes to streaming platforms on January 8, 2026.

De De Pyaar De 2 (Netflix)

The sequel to De De Pyaar De is coming on the OTT platform soon. Ajay Devgn returns as Ashish, a man who loves a younger woman named Ayesha. Now he has to meet her family. R Madhavan and Gautami Kapoor play Ayesha’s parents. Ishita Dutta and Tarun Gehlot act as her sister-in-law and brother. Directed by Anshul Sharma, it will be released on January 9, 2026.

Freedom at Midnight Season 2 (SonyLIV)

The season 2 will bring you the political and emotional journey that followed India’s Independence in 1947. The series stars Sidhant Gupta, Chirag Vohra, Rajendra Chawla, Arif Zakaria, Ira Dubey, and several other actors and will premiere on January 9, 2026.
