June is here and we are already halfway through the year. While that realisation might be hard on a lot of us considering we did not follow any of the resolutions we made this year, we can always watch movies and OTT shows to make ourselves feel better. This week the releases will culminate a mix of drama, horror, comedy, and thriller with anticipations like Hit Man, The Acolyte, Blackout, and much more. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this weekend with a thrill!

1. Hit Man (Netflix)

After Glen Powell’s Anyone But You love effect, he is back as Gary Johnson in the latest Hit Man. The movie’s plot ponders around a real life incident where a prim and proper professor discovers he has a hidden talent as a bogus hit man. He faces his potential match in a client who captures his heart and starts a domino effect of dishonesty, happiness, and disoriented identities.

2. Bad Boys (Theaters)

The duo of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence is back after a long while. A drug lord took the detectives’ largest bust of captured heroin from a police vault in the first Bad Boys. In the second movie, a Haitian gang and the Russian Mafia were involved. The third movie opens with the widow of a cartel lord breaking out of jail and sending her son on a murderous rampage, which included Mike (Smith). When their late police captain gets related to drug cartels, Miami cops Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett go on a rather risky mission to clear his name.

3. Maidaan (Amazon Prime)

The movie having an OTT release on Amazon Prime, documents football through it’s golden era by making a tribute to the great Syed Abdul Rahim played by Ajay Devgan. After India’s football team falls to Yugoslavia in the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, the media begins making fun of our team’s players. The story involves Syed Abdul Rahim recruiting new players after explaining why his side lost to the Football Federation of India. Rahim’s trip to Hyderabad and the challenges he encounters along the way are shown throughout the remainder of the movie.

4. Hierarchy (Netflix)

Netflix is back again with yet another teen k-drama and we are all for it! If you do enjoy teen k-dramas, this si your go-to show for this weekend. The show revolves around the two pupils who rule Jooshin High School: Jeong Jae-i, knownsnas the queen, and Kim Ri-an, the king. While a resentful scholarship student Kang Ha is moved to the school. His presence upsets the dynamic between the elite students since he is motivated by their retaliation.

5. Gunaah (Disney Plus Hotstar)

If you are a mystery buff like me Gunaah will give you all the masala you need. A tale of betrayal involves Abhimanyu, an experienced gambler, played by Gashmeer Mahajani. Getting tricked by the woman he loves, Abhimanyu, who was wrongfully imprisoned and charged with murder, seizes the opportunity to flee. Driven by a desire for vengeance, he dramatically changes how he looks in order to seek revenge on those who have mistreated him. Surbhi Jyoti plays a crucial role in the show as well.

6. Munjya (Theaters)

Love watching horror-comedy movies like Stree from Maddock Fims? Well they are back with yet another movie in everyone’s current favorite genre starring Sharvari, Mona Singh, Abhay Verma and Sathyaraj. Admant on getting married, Abhay goes back to his village only to see the tale of a kid who unintentionally releases a spirit, which thereafter starts to bother the local ladies. It is now up to the community to figure out how to return the spirit to its original location.

7. The Acolyte (Disney+)

The universally loved Star Wars Franchise introduces a new series. Amandla Stenberg portrays a fierce warrior from the Jedi Master’s past who challenges Lee Jung-Jae, the esteemed Jedi Master, in a fascinating story. They challenge each other’s perceptions of the Force and Jedi’s purpose in the galaxy. This story weaves a tapestry full of mystery and suspense while providing a means of exploring the dark-side powers.

8. Blackout (JioCinema)

After the massive success of 12th Fail, Vikrant Messy along with Mouni Roy, Sunil Grover, Ruhani Sharma, and Jisshu Sengupta embark on a completely fresh genre. The film revolves arounnd a man’s life completely changing in one night when he discovers a strange truck full of money and gold. The thrill of watching deal with all of the consequences as the truck belongs to a big mafia gang.

9. Gullack season 4 (SonyLIV)

All the drama-comedy fans will be excited for the 4th season of Gullak starring Jameel Khan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Vaibhav Raj Gupta and Harsh Mayar. The show revolves around the adventures of Mishra family while exploring the dynamics between parents and kids. In the new season, Anand (Vaibhav) and Aman (Harsh) deal with a changing relationship with their parents.The viewer may expect a mix of drama, humor, and nostalgia from the series.

10. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (Netflix)

The film features Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff as special agents ‘Rocky’ and ‘Freddy,’ respectively, in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. They are tasked with finding a stolen AI weapon and must contend with Dr. Kabir, a tough opponent played by Prithviraj Sukumaran with features like Alaya F and Manushi Chhillar.
