From Vicky Kaushal’s Bad Newz to the much-awaited Korean drama Sweet Home’s season 3, this week is filled with amazing releases. 1. Sweet Home 3 (Netflix)

Directed by Lee Eung Bok, this highly-anticipated K-Drama is all about surviving in a world where people are turning into monsters. Starring Song Kang, Go Minsi and Lee Do Hyun in lead roles, the plot revolves around Hyun-Su, who is on a dreadful journey to survive and stay human amidst this chaos. As the story unfolds in the third season, the challenges become even more daunting as he struggles to reclaim his humanity after being taken over by the monsters. The third season of Sweet Home will be released on July 19.

2. Tribhuvan Mishra CA Topper (Netflix)

Directed and produced by Puneet Krishna, this film stars Tillotama Shome, Manav Kaul, and Subhrajyoti Barat in lead roles. It follows the journey of Tribhuvan Mishra who finds himself in a crazy adventure involving gangsters disguised as sweet vendors. Manav Kaul who plays the character of Tribhuvan, becomes a male escort to settle his debts. Tribhuvan is married to a baker and has two kids. However, he faces a difficult situation when one of his regular clients turns out to be the wife of a kidnapper. It looks like we can expect various twists and turns for Tribhuvan Mishra. The series is set to premiere on July 18, 2024.

3. Bad Newz (Theatres)

The spin-off of the much-loved 2019 film Good Newzz, Bad Newz, directed by Anand Tiwari, features Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk in leading roles. The trailer shows the hilarious adventure of Triptii Dimri’s pregnancy. In a rare case of heteropaternal superfecundation, Triptii Dimri gets pregnant with two men. The film promises a roller coaster ride of hilarious sequences, dialogues, and loads of drama. Bad Newz is set to hit the theatres on July 19, 2024.

4. Aadujeevitham (Netflix)

Directed by Blessy Ipe Thomas, Aadujeevitham is based on a popular Malayalam novel from 2008 of the same name. The film features Prithviraj Sukumaran and Amala Paul in the lead roles. The story revolves around Najeeb, a Malayali worker who was made to work as a goatherd in Saudi Arabia under tough conditions. The trailer showed the struggles faced by Indian labourers who are forced into slavery in a foreign country. It promises an emotional and powerful story, aiming to highlight the hardships endured by these labourers. Aadujeevitham will get its digital release on July 19.

 

5. Barzakh (Zee5)

To all the Fawad Khan fans, get ready because he is back with another dramatic series. Directed by Asim Abbasi, Barzakh stars Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed as the lead actors. The story is based on a 76-year-old man who’s getting married to the ghost of his first love. This revelation makes his grandkids shocked, which leads to a lot of intense moments as the family comes together, unsure of how to deal with this situation. It looks like we can expect scenes full of emotions, drama, and family dynamics. The series will be released on July 19.

 

6. Cobra Kai Season 6 (Netflix)

Cobra Kai fans, brace yourselves as the 6th and final season of the series will be available to watch on July 18. Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence get their students ready for the big showdown at the Sekai Taikai. Things get super intense when John Kreese shows up again with a lot of anger and frustration. He’s out of prison and wants Cobra Kai to reclaim his top position worldwide. Apart from all of this, there’s a big threat with Terry Silver possibly coming back. The series has a total of 15 episodes; part one will be released on July 18, 2024, and part two will be available to watch on November 28, 2024. 

 

7. Find Me Falling (Netflix)

Directed by Stelana Kliris, Find Me Falling stars Harry Connick Jr. and Agni Scott in lead roles. John Allman, played by Harry Connick Jr., is an ageing rock star who decides to take a hiatus from his career after facing issues with his recent album and its declining popularity. To reignite his passion, he gets settled on a secluded cliffside on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. However, his intention to maintain a low profile gets disrupted. His life takes a turn when an old romance rekindles. What will happen after he meets his old love? Well, to unfold the story, the film will be released on July 19. 

 

8. I.S.S (JioCinema)

Directed by Gabriela Cowperthwait, Ariana DeBose, Masha Mashkova, and Pilou Asbæk played the lead roles. In this futuristic space thriller, tensions rise between American and Russian astronauts while boarding the International Space Station as a nuclear conflict erupts. In the beginning, they focused on scientific cooperation, but the crew faced a critical situation when both authorities commanded their respective astronauts to take control of the station. Eventually, the atmosphere at the station deteriorates. However, the astronauts must navigate the mutual distrust posed by their authorities to survive. This film will get its digital release on July 19, 2024.

 

9. Lady In The Lake (Apple TV+)

Directed by Alma Harel, this film is based on a novel of the same name. This film stars Natalie Portman and Moses Ingram in leading roles. The story is set in 1960s Baltimore and is about a journalist investigating a murder who clashes with a woman helping the black community. Natalie Portman leaves her husband and a fancy house to become a reporter. Furthermore, she delves into solving the mysteries of two murders: one of an eleven-year-old girl named Tessie and the other of a bartender named Cleo. The story revolves around her journey to uncover the truth behind these tragic events. The film will be available to stream on July 19. 

 

10. Kung Fu Panda 4 (JioCinema)

Directed by Mike Mitchell and Stephanie Ma Stine, the story of the 4th instalment revolves around Po, who has to mentor a new warrior as he’s chosen to be the spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace. But things take a huge turn and it gets complicated when a mighty shape-shifting sorceress sets her eyes on Po’s Staff of Wisdom. Furthermore, this makes Po realise that he can’t handle it alone and needs support. Having said that, Po goes on to team up with a witty and smart corsac fox. With this Po discovers that heroes can come from anywhere at any time. The film will be available on the OTT platform, Jio Cinema from July 15.

 

11. Arcadian (Lionsgate Play)

Directed by Benjamin Brewer, this film has to be added to your watch list! The film stars Nicolas Cage, Sadie Soverall and Jaeden Martell in lead roles. In a post-apocalyptic setting on Earth, Paul and his twin sons face terror at night when mysterious creatures awaken. When Paul is nearly killed, the boys come up with a survival plan, using everything their father taught them to keep him alive. Will the boys be able to save their father? To find out, watch the movie on July 19.

12. Immaculate (Theatres)

If you are a fan of horror films, this one’s for you! Directed by Michael Mohan, it stars Sydney Sweeney as the lead actor. Cecilia, an American nun with immense faith begins a new journey in a remote convent in the mystic Italian countryside. Cecilia’s warm welcome suddenly turns into a nightmare after she realises that her new home has a sinister secret. How is Cecilia going to save herself from the situation? Will she be able to turn the tables on her side? Watch the film on July 19 to find out!

 

13. Accident Or Conspiracy Godhra: Chapter 1 (Theatres)

Directed by M.K. Shivaaksh, you’ll get to witness Ranvir Shorey and Manoj Joshi in lead roles. The story revolves around the Nanavati-Mehta Commission’s report on the Godhra train fire. The protagonist tries to figure out if the incident in Godhra was an accident or was purposely caused by a few people and was planned. The film will be released on July 19, 2024.
