Content creator Apoorva Mukhija, aka the Rebel Kid, has been making headlines ever since rumours of her moving out of India came out. And during a recent chat, she opened up about moving to New York and the reason behind this decision, along with her experience after India’s Got Latent controversy. During her appearance on Utriggered by AminJaz, Apoorva Mukhija revealed that her life changed after India’s Got Latent controversy and also admitted to being tired of the same cycle of being cancelled followed by a comeback. She said that even though she tried to filter her words in the vlog, she still found herself being cancelled. Rebel Kid said that going through such controversies affects her brand deals and she stops earning money. When asked if she was “running” abroad, she said she had already moved, as she travelled a lot and had never seen anything like New York. She further recalled loving every web series based there and always wanting to live there. Mukhija said that she had only applied to one college in New York and had gotten in.
The content creator shared this clip on her Instagram stories and wrote that she doesn’t live in India anymore, and revealed that moving to New York was a dream for her. She admitted to being scared of leaving her friends and career in India and returning to student life, where she would be pursuing an MBA. Apoorva said that she wanted to meet new people and build a social circle beyond fellow creators and felt that it would only be possible through college. She concluded by stating that the “kaleshi aurat” was dead and that she created that content because she knew it would sell.
