Fame brings both joy and challenges. Celebrities enjoy being recognised and seeing a pool of fans in front of them. But sometimes it can turn tough when fans crowd their every place they visit. For example, K-pop stars like BTS often face overwhelming mobs at airports, which can feel scary and unsafe. Recently, BTS member V spoke about this issue during a livestream and asked fans to bring back the Purple Ribbon Project. Wondering what it is all about? Read on to know all about it.

All About Purple Ribbon Project

The Purple Ribbon Project began in 2018 and was started by BTS’ fandom to protect the group’s safety and privacy. Fans used purple ribbons and made a human chain at the airport so that the members could move easily without any hassle. The initiative once again showed how much fans care for the group. Following the project, V was so touched by it that he even posed with a purple ribbon during a photoshoot for Dispatch.

However, over time, the project was no longer seen as essential, as fans believed staying home was more essential. But, after the recent scenario, the need for the fan-driven initiative to come back has increased. And hence, during the livestream, the ‘Slow Dancing’ singer talked about it. He stated that he wants to pose nicely for reporters but he is unable to due to the huge crowd.

Well, it’s true! When fans mob celebrities, it can lead to accidents. Therefore, the Purple Ribbon Project encourages fans to express their support and love in a calm manner rather than jumping around and risking their lives. Such projects or initiatives make a big difference. However, it would be safer and better for artists if the fans showered love online and did not disrupt the airport area, as it’s a public space.
